Role Description
We are hiring a Quality Engineer to contribute to continual product and process improvements at Form Energy. In this role, you will develop and document quality processes, participate in cross-functional teams, and work with Design Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Suppliers, and Operations to address quality and manufacturability challenges. This is a hands-on individual contributor role spanning the entire product development lifecycle — from early R&D through validation testing, pilot builds, and SOP/customer deliveries. You will be an integral member of Form Energy's Quality Team, helping ensure all products meet customer and company requirements.

What you'll do:
Work closely with Design/Manufacturing Engineering to develop and document measurement, inspection, and test methods in support of Control Plans
Support change management and execution of process development experiments
Review PFMEAs and Control Plans and assist with updates and revisions
Assist in the identification and resolution of manufacturing quality issues
Participate in continuous improvement activities with Design/Manufacturing Engineering and external Suppliers
Support Statistical Process Control (SPC) activities and use critical thinking to reduce manufacturing variation
Support non-conforming material control activities
What you'll bring:
2–3 years of experience in quality engineering or manufacturing-related roles
Bachelor's degree in Materials Science, Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field
Familiarity with SPC, PFMEAs, and Control Plans
Aptitude with electronic test and measurement systems
Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings and wiring diagrams
Structured problem-solving skills (8D) and foundational knowledge of statistical tools including DOE, Process Capability (Cpk, Ppk), etc.
Proficiency with data analysis tools such as JMP, R, Minitab, or equivalent
Ability to manage, synthesize, and interpret data
Ability to work well in a dynamic, fast-paced environment while remaining detail-oriented with strong record-keeping and organizational skills
Where you'll work:
This role is based at Form Factory 1 in Weirton, WV—an easy commute from the city of Pittsburgh, PA. This 550,000-square-foot facility is our hub for high-volume battery production and a leader in the new era of American energy manufacturing. Relocation assistance is available.
