Data Quality Analyst Jobs in New York: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a data quality analyst in New York?
Most data quality analyst roles in New York require a bachelor's degree in a quantitative or technical field such as computer science, information systems, or statistics. New York does not require a state-issued license for this role. Employers in financial services and healthcare often expect familiarity with industry-specific data standards, such as BCBS regulatory reporting requirements or HL7 and FHIR standards in clinical settings. Building hands-on experience through projects, internships, or adjacent analyst roles strengthens a candidate's profile considerably.
How much do data quality analysts make in New York?
Data quality analysts in New York earn a median of about $130,460 a year, based on May 2025 Bureau of Labor Statistics wage data, ranging from around $73,330 for the lowest 10% to over $214,080 for the top 10%. Pay rises with experience, specialty, and employer.
Which companies hire data quality analysts in New York?
Employers hiring data quality analysts in New York right now include Bloomberg, Goldman Sachs, and New York Life, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of June 2026. New York's concentration of global financial institutions, large hospital networks, and enterprise technology firms makes it one of the more active markets for this role nationwide.
Which New York cities have the most data quality analyst jobs?
New York, Manhattan, and New York City account for the most data quality analyst openings in New York. New York City leads by a wide margin given its density of financial firms, media companies, and health systems, while Albany draws demand from state agency data operations and insurers, and Buffalo has seen growth through regional healthcare networks and back-office financial operations headquartered there.
Are there remote data quality analyst jobs in New York?
Yes, and more than most fields. Data quality analysis is a desk-based, systems-oriented role that translates well to remote environments. About 39% of data quality analyst openings tied to New York are remote or hybrid as of June 2026, reflecting broader flexibility in analytical and data-focused roles. Work involving live system audits, stakeholder workshops, or regulated data environments may still require on-site presence.
How can I get hired as a data quality analyst in New York with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is through a junior data analyst or data operations associate role, which many large New York employers use as a pipeline for data quality work. Financial firms like Citigroup and healthcare systems like Northwell Health run structured associate programs and rotational analyst tracks open to new graduates. A portfolio of SQL projects, a certification in a tool like Informatica or dbt, or coursework in data governance gives candidates a concrete edge when applying without direct experience.
Where can I find and apply to data quality analyst jobs in New York?
You can find and apply to data quality analyst jobs in New York on Migrate Mate, which lists current openings from employers actively hiring in the state. Search for roles that match your experience level and location, then apply directly to the ones that fit.
