Partner Development Manager Jobs in New York: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a partner development manager in New York?
Partner development manager roles in New York have no state-issued license or exam requirement, so the path runs through education and experience. Most New York employers expect a bachelor's degree in business, marketing, or a related field. Candidates typically build toward the role through account management, business development, or channel sales positions at New York-based technology or financial services firms, then transition once they have demonstrable partnership or alliance experience.
Which companies hire partner development managers in New York?
Employers hiring partner development managers in New York right now include Google, Amazon Web Services, and Atlassian, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of August 2026. New York's dense concentration of enterprise technology, media, and financial services companies means demand for the role is consistent across both large corporations and growth-stage firms headquartered in the city.
Which New York cities have the most partner development manager jobs?
New York, Albany, and Florida have the most partner development manager openings in New York. New York City dominates because it is the headquarters hub for enterprise technology vendors, global financial institutions, and media companies that run large partner ecosystems, while Albany and Buffalo contribute openings tied to regional technology firms, healthcare technology, and state government-adjacent organizations.
Are there remote partner development manager jobs in New York?
Yes, and more than most fields. About 60% of partner development manager openings tied to New York are remote or hybrid as of August 2026, reflecting how much of the role is conducted through calls, digital collaboration tools, and virtual partner events. The portions most likely to remain fully remote are partner enablement, co-marketing coordination, and program management, while roles requiring frequent in-person executive relationship work tend to be hybrid.
How can I get hired as a partner development manager in New York with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is through a business development representative or channel sales coordinator role at a New York-based technology or SaaS company, then moving into partnerships once you have quota-carrying or relationship management experience. Large New York employers like IBM and Salesforce run structured associate and rotational programs that include alliances and partner operations tracks. Building familiarity with partner relationship management platforms and earning a vendor-issued partnership certification, such as those offered by major cloud providers, gives candidates a concrete edge.
