- Exceptional communication skills with the ability to influence senior decision-makers internally and externally Comfort working in extremely high-paced, ambiguous environments

Tips for Your Partner Development Manager Job Search
Quantify your partner-sourced revenue
Hiring managers for this role want to see numbers tied to partner-influenced pipeline, not just relationship-building activities. Pull co-sell revenue, partner-sourced deal counts, or channel attach rates from your past roles and lead your resume bullets with those figures.
Tailor applications to partner motion type
Resellers, technology alliances, and systems integrators each require a different skill set. Read each job posting for clues about which partner model the company runs, then mirror that language in your resume and cover letter so your experience maps directly to their motion.
Apply early to roles that fit
Migrate Mate lists partner development manager openings from across the United States in one place, so you can find roles that match and apply directly to each listing.
Highlight cross-functional deal experience
Partner roles sit at the intersection of sales, product, and marketing. On your resume, call out specific examples where you aligned internal teams to close a joint deal or launch a co-marketing program, because interviewers will probe exactly those scenarios.
Prep a partner business review example
Many interview processes for this role include a business review presentation or a role-play with a fictional partner. Prepare a real example of a quarterly business review you ran, the metrics you tracked, and how you moved a stagnant partner to active selling status.
Negotiate on variable compensation structure
Partner development manager offers often include a partner-influenced or sourced bonus on top of base pay. Before accepting, clarify how partner attribution is tracked and whether the variable component is tied to outcomes you directly control versus shared team targets.
Partner Development Manager Jobs: Frequently Asked Questions
Which companies are hiring the most partner development managers?
The companies hiring the most partner development managers right now include Amazon Web Services, EAB, and Google, with the largest share of openings in California, New York, and Texas, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of August 2026. Demand is concentrated in technology and cloud services companies expanding their indirect sales and ecosystem programs.
How many partner development manager jobs are remote?
About 70% of partner development manager openings are fully remote or hybrid as of August 2026, reflecting the relationship-driven nature of the role and broad geographic partner coverage requirements. Alliance management and technology partnership roles tend to offer more remote flexibility than channel field roles that require regional travel to reseller offices.
How do you become a partner development manager?
Start by building experience in an adjacent sales or business development role, such as account management, channel sales, or inside sales, where you interact with external partners or resellers. Develop familiarity with joint go-to-market frameworks and partner enablement. Then move into a junior partner manager or partner success role before stepping up to a partner development manager position with full ownership of a partner segment.
Can you get a partner development manager job with limited experience?
Yes, if you reframe transferable experience strategically. Candidates moving from account executive, solutions consultant, or customer success roles often break in by demonstrating that they have managed external stakeholders, built joint account plans, or run enablement sessions for a third party. Targeting smaller companies or high-growth startups building out their partner programs from scratch also increases your chances, because those employers weigh potential and initiative more heavily than years in a titled partner role.
What does the partner development manager interview process look like?
The process typically runs through a recruiter screen, a hiring manager conversation focused on your partner methodology and past results, and then one or two rounds with cross-functional stakeholders from sales or product. Many employers add a take-home or live presentation where you build a mock partner business plan or quarterly review, so expect to demonstrate structure and commercial reasoning, not just relationship skills.
Where can I find and apply to partner development manager jobs?
You can find and apply to partner development manager jobs on Migrate Mate, which lists current openings from across the United States. Find roles that match your experience and background, then apply directly to each listing from the page.
