Director Of Program Management Jobs in Nevada: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a director of program management in Nevada?
The most direct path in Nevada is building a foundation in project or program coordination, earning a PMP certification through the Project Management Institute, and progressing into senior manager roles before stepping into a director position. Nevada does not require a state-issued license for program management, so credentials like the PMP and a bachelor's or master's degree in business, engineering, or a related field carry the most weight with Nevada hiring managers, particularly in defense, technology, and hospitality operations.
How much do director of program managements make in Nevada?
Director of program managements in Nevada earn a median of about $99,940 a year, based on May 2025 Bureau of Labor Statistics wage data, ranging from around $61,610 for the lowest 10% to over $162,830 for the top 10%. Pay rises with experience, specialty, and employer.
Which companies hire director of program managements in Nevada?
Employers hiring director of program managements in Nevada right now include KPMG, Optum, and CVS Health, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of July 2026. Nevada's defense contractors along the Las Vegas corridor and large-scale technology infrastructure firms in the Reno area tend to post the most consistent director-level openings.
Which Nevada cities have the most director of program management jobs?
Las Vegas, Reno, and Carson City have the most director of program management openings in Nevada. Las Vegas and Henderson dominate because of the region's concentration of defense contractors, enterprise technology companies, and the large gaming and hospitality corporations headquartered there, while Reno's growing data center and logistics sector drives demand in northern Nevada.
Are there remote director of program management jobs in Nevada?
Yes, and more than most fields, since program management at the director level is largely a coordination, planning, and stakeholder communication role that transfers well to remote settings. About 31% of director of program management openings tied to Nevada are remote or hybrid as of July 2026, reflecting broad employer flexibility at this seniority level. Strategic oversight, vendor management, and portfolio reporting are the functions most commonly performed fully remotely.
How can I get hired as a director of program management in Nevada with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry point is a project coordinator or associate program manager role, which large Nevada employers such as defense contractors in the Las Vegas metro and technology firms in Reno regularly post as stepping stones. Earning a Certified Associate in Project Management credential demonstrates readiness before the full PMP is achievable. Building experience managing one workstream within a larger program, then moving laterally from operations management or business analyst roles, is a well-documented path at Nevada employer types where cross-functional exposure matters more than a single-discipline background.
