INTRODUCTION

Director of Treatment Mall is responsible for the day-to-day operations of the Hazard Behavioral Health Treatment Mall and recreation department. This position is also responsible for oversight of treatment groups and activities at Harlan and Highlands. Recovery Mall responsibilities will include the development and operational oversight of the Hazard Psychiatric Center’s Recovery Mall programs and employees. The Hazard Treatment Mall comprises treatment modalities spanning behavioral health, recovery and recreational services, and is designed to help patients change, grow, and recover from the effects of mental illness and substance abuse in an activity-filled environment. Unit and Recovery Mall programming includes social and leisure skills improvement and educational programs geared toward recovery. Finally, the Director of the Treatment Mall will be instrumental in helping create a “Recovery” model of care in which patients are actively engaged in their treatment and discharge planning.

Responsibilities:

• Responsible for the development, implementation and subsequent direction of the Hazard Psychiatric Center’s Treatment Mall, and on-unit recreational activities.
• Will act as the Treatment Mall’s subject-level expert on therapeutic and recreational interventions, advising other organizational and community stakeholders on the role of Recovery Mall services in the long-term recovery of patients experiencing acute and/or chronic psychiatric symptoms.
• When needed, serve as a member of the multidisciplinary health care team by providing services to patients and families.
• Participate in departmental coverage to maintain adequate staffing. Seek to eliminate duplication among staff or omission of unnecessary services or intervention.
• Maintains services that focus on patient recovery, collaborates with other disciplines, departments, and treatment teams, and assures a collaborative approach to patient care services.
• Works directly with clinical and non-clinical staff in resolving patient issues.
• Demonstrates collaborative management style to work alongside other leaders and managers to support clinical functions.
• Collaborate with administrators, physicians, service line leaders, and others.
• Maintains professional certifications and licenses; completing required annual training within established timeframes.
• Responsible for completing chart reviews at all four psychiatric units and reporting those details to the System Director of Inpatient Clinical Services.
• Responsible for ensuring the completion of group therapy at all four behavioral health units.
• Perform all other duties as assigned.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Licensed and/or ability to be licensed in Kentucky as a Clinical Social Worker (CSW). LCSW preferred.

5-10 Years of Clinical Experience Required

3-5 Years of Healthcare Leadership Preferred

REQUIRED LICENSES/CERTIFICATIONS

• Current or Ability to Obtain a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), in the Commonwealth of Kentucky.

REQUIRED SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITIES

• Ability to communicate effectively and document information accurately
• Ability to deal efficiently and effectively with a wide variety of individuals
• Knowledge of basic medical terminology required
• Basic computer knowledge is required
• Ability to move or lift patients and equipment
• Ability to work independently within general guidelines
• Ability to communicate in English, both orally and written
• Ability to work flexible hours
• Ability to work with adults experiencing mental health disturbances or dual diagnoses.
