INTRODUCTION
St. Mary's Medical Center is seeking a Staff Educator for our Organizational Development and Learning Department (ODAL). Under the general supervision of the department leader or authorized designee, provides orientation, on-the-job training, and continuing education programs for all assigned units.
Education:
Graduate of an approved school of nursing, BSN preferred. Maintains current license to practice nursing in the State of West Virginia.
Experience:
Minimum of five (5) years as staff nurse.
SKILLS:
- Evidence of skills in leadership, creativity, integrity, initiative, and communication
- Thorough knowledge of good nursing practice
- Ability to apply knowledge and express ideas both written and oral
- Ability to write objectives for all teaching programs
- Ability to relate well with co-workers, all levels of nursing staff, and medical staff
- Emotional stability, poise and self-confidence
- Physical health sufficient to meet the demands of the job
- Eligible for certification as instructor of required staff competencies.
