Entry Level Electrical Engineer Jobs: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I get an entry level electrical engineer job?
Entry level electrical engineer roles reward candidates who can show hands-on work, even from coursework or internships. Employers at this stage look for fundamentals in circuit design, CAD tools, and relevant software. A project portfolio that demonstrates practical problem-solving gives new candidates a clear edge, and any co-op or internship experience, even part-time, signals job readiness to hiring managers.
Which companies hire entry level electrical engineers?
Companies hiring entry level electrical engineers right now include HDR, Jobot, and Raytheon, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of July 2026. Hiring covers defense contractors, utilities, consumer electronics manufacturers, and engineering consulting firms, all of which regularly build out junior teams from new graduates and candidates early in their careers.
Are there remote entry level electrical engineer jobs?
Yes, though the majority of entry level electrical engineer roles are on-site due to lab and hardware requirements. About 7% of entry level electrical engineer openings are remote or hybrid as of July 2026, and those positions tend to focus on design, simulation, or testing work that can be completed without physical access to equipment.
Are these new grad electrical engineer jobs?
Yes, these listings include new grad, recent graduate, and junior electrical engineer roles. A posting is new-grad friendly when it welcomes zero to two years of experience, counts internships or co-ops toward its requirements, or accepts a portfolio of academic or personal projects in place of professional history. Searching for junior or new grad roles alongside entry level broadens your results at this stage.
Which industries hire the most entry level electrical engineers?
Entry Level electrical engineer roles concentrate in Consulting & Professional Services, Manufacturing, and Construction & Real Estate, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of July 2026. These sectors drive consistent hiring at the junior level because they rely on ongoing product development, infrastructure buildout, and hardware testing cycles that benefit from bringing in new engineers who can grow with expanding project teams.
