Electrical Project Engineer Jobs in Atlanta: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I get an electrical project engineer job in Atlanta?
Focus your search on Atlanta's commercial construction, data center, and power utility sectors, which drive consistent local demand. Firms concentrated in Midtown and the Perimeter Center area hire frequently for project delivery roles. Candidates with experience on large commercial or industrial builds, familiarity with Georgia Power interconnection processes, and a PE license or active pursuit of one stand out in this market.
Which companies hire electrical project engineers in Atlanta?
Companies currently hiring electrical project engineers in Atlanta include D&R Contracting, Affiliated Engineers, and IMEG, per current listings on Migrate Mate as of November 2026. The local employer mix runs from national engineering and construction firms with Atlanta regional offices to utilities, industrial contractors, and data center developers expanding across the metro.
Are there remote electrical project engineer jobs in Atlanta?
Yes, but only for certain parts of the role, since electrical project engineering is largely site-dependent work. About 67% of electrical project engineer openings tied to Atlanta are remote or hybrid as of November 2026, typically covering design review, specification writing, and project coordination tasks. On-site commissioning, inspections, and contractor oversight almost always require a physical presence.
How can I get an electrical project engineer job in Atlanta with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path in Atlanta is through mid-size electrical contracting or engineering consulting firms in the Perimeter Center and Northeast Atlanta corridors, which routinely hire junior engineers and recent graduates into project coordinator or field engineer roles. Internship experience with Georgia Power, a local AEC firm, or a data center developer helps considerably. An EIT credential and any coursework in power systems or building systems gives you a concrete edge with Atlanta employers.

Atlanta electrical project engineer roles concentrate in Consulting & Professional Services, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of November 2026.
