Mid Level Electronic Engineer Jobs: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I get a mid level electronic engineer job?
Position your existing work by emphasizing projects you owned rather than contributed to. Highlight moments where you diagnosed a hardware or firmware issue independently, delivered a design through verification, or improved a process without being directed to. Tailor your resume to show scope and decision-making, not just tools used. Strong applications lead with outcomes, not job duties.
Which companies hire mid level electronic engineers?
Companies hiring mid level electronic engineers right now include Allied Universal Technology Services, Lockheed Martin, and Johnson Controls, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of July 2026. Hiring at this level comes from a wide range of employers, including defense contractors, consumer electronics manufacturers, industrial automation firms, and semiconductor companies with ongoing product development cycles.
Are there remote mid level electronic engineer jobs?
Yes, though hardware-heavy roles are more likely to require on-site presence. About 27% of mid level electronic engineer openings are remote or hybrid as of July 2026, with remote availability concentrated in firmware, embedded software, and systems engineering functions where lab access is not a daily requirement.
How do I move up to a mid level electronic engineer role?
Growing into a mid level role means building a history of independent contributions over your first few years. Focus on deepening your specialization in one or two areas, such as analog design, embedded systems, or RF engineering, and seek out projects where you can own a complete design cycle. Demonstrating measurable impact, such as yield improvements or reduced design iterations, signals readiness for greater ownership.
Which industries hire the most mid level electronic engineers?
Mid Level electronic engineer roles concentrate in Technology & Software, Manufacturing, and Consulting & Professional Services, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of July 2026. These sectors drive consistent mid level hiring because their product development timelines require engineers who can work independently through design, testing, and iteration without constant supervision.
