Description
The Staff Civil/Environmental Engineer will support project teams to create world class designs for a wide variety of civil and environmental engineering projects which may include solid waste and resource recovery facilities, municipal, commercial and industrial facilities, stormwater management structures, utility facilities, water/wastewater collection systems and treatment facilities, and other various civil site and stormwater design projects. This position offers the opportunity to lead tasks/projects, perform assistant project management duties, and interact with clients. Candidates for this role will have career growth opportunities into lead engineer, project management, and other potential leadership roles.
Duties of the Staff Civil/Environmental Engineer may include:
- Performing design of facilities from the conceptual phase through design completion and construction.
- Working with project teams throughout the design and construction process, adapting plans, designs, production drawings and specifications according to budget constraints, regulatory requirements, or client needs.
- Researching and compiling of project-related data as required by the project managers.
- Preparing reports, studies, and cost estimates to help clients evaluate options and provide solutions.
- Support and lead civil and environmental permitting efforts.
- Assistant project management duties such as developing and executing project scope, budget, schedule, quality, safety, and client expectations.
- Provide construction phase support services and preparation of construction quality assurance (CQA) reports.
- Training / mentoring of staff.
- Developing new and maintaining existing client and regulatory relationships.
- Other duties, as assigned.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering or related degree from an ABET accredited program and 3 years of civil or environmental engineering experience (consulting preferred) required; or Bachelor’s Degree in Environmental or Civil Engineering or related Engineering Technology from an ABET accredited program and successful completion of Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) exam and 3 years of environmental engineering experience (consulting preferred) required; or Master’s degree in Environmental or Civil Engineering and 2 years of environmental or civil engineering experience (consulting preferred) required.
- FE, EIT, or PE Preferred.
- Available for travel as necessary (approximately 15% travel).
- Strong knowledge in standard civil and environmental engineering techniques and procedures.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work methodically and analytically in a quantitative problem-solving environment and demonstrated critical thinking skills.
- Strong computer skills (e.g. Microsoft Office Suite, Civil 3D, and other programs).
- Strong attention to detail, facilitation, team building, collaboration, organization, and problem-solving skills.
Compensation
- $95,000.00-135,000.00 Yearly
The expected compensation range for this position is displayed in compliance with all local/state regulations. The expected compensation range for this position is based on a number of factors, including but not limited to: individual education, qualifications, prior work experience and work location. The total annual compensation package will consist of a base salary and eligibility to participate in our discretionary year-end incentive bonus program.
