INTRODUCTION
Workers will harvest, load, and unload cabbage, kale, lettuce, and other mixed greens. Workers will perform assigned duties as instructed by their supervisor.
ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Prolonged walking, standing, bending, stooping, and reaching is required to perform the job duties.
- Workers must be able to lift and carry 60 lbs. repetitively throughout the day.
- The employer will provide the tools necessary to perform the described job duties without charge to the worker.
- The employer will charge the worker for reasonable costs related to the worker's refusal or negligent failure to return the tools or due to such worker's willful damage or destruction of the tools.
- All workers are required to follow common sanitary practices at all times. This is particularly important when touching crops for human consumption.
- Workers are required to cleanse their hands by washing thoroughly with soap and water before performing job duties and after each break.
- Smoking and the use of tobacco products is prohibited during work time.
- Exposure to extreme temperatures.
- Must not hinder another worker's productivity.
- Use of a personal cell phone or other personal electronic device during work hours is strictly prohibited except for work-related calls or emergencies and violation may result in immediate termination.
- Though not a hiring requirement, if a worker drives a company vehicle during the period of employment, then at the time of operating the company vehicle the driver must possess a valid driver's license issued by a U.S. state or foreign equivalent and operate the company vehicle in accordance with the license restrictions and vehicle classifications applicable to that license.
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS
- The use, possession, or being under the influence of illegal drugs or alcohol during working time is prohibited.
- Workers may be requested to submit to random drug or alcohol tests at no cost to the worker. Failure to comply with the request or testing positive may result in immediate termination. All testing will occur post-hire and is not part of the interview process.
SCHEDULE
The job offered requires that the worker be available for work 7 hours from Monday through Friday and 5 on Saturday. Every day that work is available and for the full anticipated period of employment, even though work may be slack for a brief period of time. The worker agrees to be available for work and perform assigned tasks whenever work is available throughout the full anticipated period of employment. Work available is defined as, no work required on the worker's sabbath or federal holidays, but work is required 7 hours from Monday through Friday and 5 on Saturday.
CONDUCT
- Sloppy work cannot and will not be tolerated.
- Excessive absences and/or tardiness cannot be tolerated and may result in termination.
