Community Resource Services of Colorado (CRS), located in the Denver Tech Center, is looking for an experienced CPA to join our team. CRS provides management and accounting services primarily to special districts throughout Colorado.
The Assistant Director of Finance and Accounting will help lead and manage all accounting and finance functions. The ideal candidate will have proven experience as a manager with an in-depth knowledge of accounting and finance principles and the ability to prioritize and delegate responsibilities in an effective and efficient manner.
Job Responsibilities:
- Supervise, manage, and provide ongoing training to accounting personnel.
- Review accountants’ work including schedules, reconciliations, financial statements, budgets, and other documents and filings required under state statutes.
- Prepare and or/review audit workpapers and financial statements and footnotes for review by outside auditors.
- Collaborate and communicate with managers, clients, legal, auditors, and other outside consultants to meet all required deadlines and provide excellent client service.
- Develop and maintain effective client, staff, and other related relationships.
- Ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
- Other projects and duties as assigned.
Job Requirements:
- A bachelor's degree in accounting or a related field and an active Colorado CPA license.
- At least five-eight years of relevant experience and excellent accounting and analytical skills.
- Must be organized and detail oriented.
- Proven experience in preparation of audit financial statements, footnotes, and management reporting.
- Ability to deliver excellent client service, flexibility, and a strong ability and willingness to work with others within and outside of the organization.
- Skilled in professionally written composition, technical writing, and verbal communication.
- Skilled in judgment, analytical problem solving, and decision making.
- Ability to meet deadlines and work on multiple clients and projects.
- Ability to prioritize work, work efficiently, and prepare accurate work.
- Must have strong excel, word, and general ledger experience.
- Knowledge of GAAP and GASB (governmental accounting a plus).
- Will need to be available to attend quarterly or monthly board meetings (some boards meet in the evening).
- Workload and timely reporting may require extra hours at times.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $115,000.00 - $135,000.00 per year
