Entry Level Foot and Ankle Surgeon Jobs: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I get an entry level foot and ankle surgeon job?
Employers hiring at the entry level typically look for completion of a podiatric or orthopedic surgical residency, board eligibility or certification, and hands-on experience from clinical rotations. Candidates who can demonstrate procedural volume from training, strong letters from supervising surgeons, and a willingness to work across subspecialties such as trauma and reconstruction tend to stand out. Joining professional associations and attending specialty conferences also helps build visibility early in a career.
Which companies hire entry level foot and ankle surgeons?
Companies hiring entry level foot and ankle surgeons right now include Stryker, Houston Methodist, and MaineHealth, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of July 2026. Hiring at this level tends to come from hospital systems, orthopedic group practices, and multispecialty clinics that build out their surgical coverage by bringing on newly trained surgeons.
Are there remote entry level foot and ankle surgeon jobs?
Yes, though surgical roles are predominantly on-site by nature. About 0% of entry level foot and ankle surgeon openings are remote or hybrid as of July 2026, and those postings typically involve telehealth consultations, pre-operative assessments, or administrative and research components rather than hands-on surgical work.
Are these new grad foot and ankle surgeon jobs?
Yes, these listings include new grad, recent graduate, and junior foot and ankle surgeon roles. A posting is generally new-grad friendly when it welcomes zero to two years of post-training experience, counts residency or fellowship rotations toward the requirement, or explicitly states that recent graduates are encouraged to apply. A strong residency case log often substitutes for independent practice experience at this stage.
Which industries hire the most entry level foot and ankle surgeons?
Entry Level foot and ankle surgeon roles concentrate in Healthcare & Medical Services, Medical Devices, and Education, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of July 2026. Those sectors drive hiring at this level because they operate high surgical volumes, run structured onboarding programs for new attending physicians, and need coverage across both outpatient clinics and hospital operating rooms.
