Entry Level Front-End Engineer Jobs: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I get an entry level front-end engineer job?
Build a portfolio with two or three projects that show working knowledge of HTML, CSS, and JavaScript, plus at least one modern framework like React or Vue. Employers at the entry level care more about what you have shipped than how many years you have worked. Internship experience, bootcamp projects, and open-source contributions all count. Tailor each application to the job description and apply consistently.
Which companies hire entry level front-end engineers?
Companies hiring entry level front-end engineers right now include Esri, CVS Health, and Capital One, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of July 2026. Hiring at this level comes from a wide range of employers, from early-stage startups building out their first engineering teams to large enterprises running structured new grad programs.
Are there remote entry level front-end engineer jobs?
Yes, though remote availability varies by employer and team. About 14% of entry level front-end engineer openings are remote or hybrid as of July 2026, so candidates who need flexibility have real options. On-site roles remain common for new grads because many teams prefer in-person mentorship and onboarding at the junior stage.
Are these new grad front-end engineer jobs?
Yes. The listings on this page include new grad, recent graduate, and junior front-end engineer roles. A posting is new-grad friendly when it welcomes zero to two years of experience, accepts internships or academic projects as credentials, or explicitly invites candidates who are early in their careers. Look for phrases like "entry level," "junior," or "new grad" in the job description to confirm.
Which industries hire the most entry level front-end engineers?
Entry Level front-end engineer roles concentrate in Technology & Software, Banking & Financial Services, and Consulting & Professional Services, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of July 2026. Those sectors drive hiring at this level because they build and maintain consumer-facing digital products that require constant front-end development work, creating steady demand for junior engineers who can contribute quickly.
