Job Description: The person in this position will serve as the primary on-site event manager for home athletics events at both on- and off-campus venues throughout the academic year. This person will also run promotional giveaways at select home events and oversee departmental laundry operation. This position is required to work regular nights and weekends in a full-time, 10-month (August 1 through May 31) capacity.

Responsibilities:
- Serves as the primary on-site event manager for home athletic contests where they are responsible for staffing and running those events while also communicating directly with visiting teams and officials on gameday operations and university protocols.
- Oversees and schedules all student and professional staff for gameday event management while providing appropriate training to ensure seamless operational efficiency.
- Communicates regularly with the Athletics Communications staff to ensure operational efficiency and training for scoreboard and shot clock operators as well as related positions.
- Executes a plan for promotional giveaways at home athletic events to drive attendance and fan engagement.
- Monitors athletic gameday equipment and supplies as well as storage areas for functionality, safety, security, and cleanliness.
- Oversees departmental laundry operations through the training of student workers and coordination of schedules with coaches and teams.
- Contributes to the overall success of the Athletics Department by performing all other duties and responsibilities as assigned. Responsibilities may include assigned administrative tasks, committee work, or representing the Athletics Department at conferences/meetings.
- Periodically serves as an assigned building manager that is responsible for facility supervision and opening/closing on an as needed basis around home athletic event schedule.
Essential Job Requirements:
Education:
- Bachelor's degree preferred. Degree work in recreation management, sports management, fitness, physical education, or related fields from accredited college or university is preferred.
- Work experience will be considered in lieu of a Bachelor's degree.
Experience:
- Previous experience working in intercollegiate athletics is preferred.
- Demonstrated leadership, vision, personnel, and management skills.
- Demonstrated experience in managing or overseeing athletic or fitness facilities preferred.
Skills:
- Excellent organizational, communication, and leadership skills, whether dealing with individuals or groups, and an ability to work well with different constituents.
- Strong initiative, detail, and follow-up skills with student workers, staff members, and administration.
- Strong strategic thinking and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to set and achieve or exceed goals and meet deadlines.
- Ability to learn and apply University policies and procedures to ensure operational compliance and reliable judgement.
- General computer knowledge with a proficiency in Word and Excel.
Special Requirements:
- Ability to work a flexible schedule expected.
- Evening and weekend availability is required. This position will work regular evening hours throughout the year.
- Flexibility with an evolving work environment is important.
- Valid driver's license required.
- Ability to successfully complete a background check, motor vehicle check, and drug test.
- Current CPR, AED, and first aid certifications required. Training and recertification can be provided if necessary.
- Compliance with NCAA Division III rules and regulations required.
- Compliance with athletic conference rules and regulations required.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to move about campus and other locations.
- Physical ability to include standing and/or walking for long periods, bending, kneeling and stooping, manual dexterity, and ability to lift and carry up to 30 pounds.
Supervision:
- Received: Position reports to the Associate Director of Athletics.
- Given: Supervises wellness instructors as well as undergraduate and graduate student workers.
