Job Description
Role: General Manager, NEXT
Reports To: Maddie Burke
Location: Atlanta
Workplace Type: We ask all employees to work a hybrid schedule, with a minimum 2x/week in their local office. We welcome employees to utilize office space more than that where possible.
We are seeking a dynamic, commercially-driven, and highly collaborative leader to run the day-to-day operations of NEXT. NEXT is a brand within World 50 Group that is dedicated to world-class executive development. Reporting directly to the Head of NEXT, this role is a premier leadership opportunity to operationalize a high-impact growth strategy and scale a thriving platform.
If you are an operational mastermind who understands how to connect disparate business units, from enterprise sales to program delivery, into a cohesive growth engine, we encourage you to explore this role.
The Role
As the General Manager, you will be instrumental in continuing to scale NEXT into a market-leading executive development platform. This highly commercial role requires a unique blend of strategic vision, operational excellence, and hands-on leadership. With a true builder mentality, you will lead the business through its next phase of growth. Your key responsibilities will center around commercial ownership (P&L, growth) to drive a sustainable, high-margin business model that delivers exceptional executive value and strong growth through predictable, repeatable strategies.
Key Responsibilities:
- Commercial Ownership & P&L Leadership: Accountability for the P&L, overall growth, and margin profiles, creating and executing a strategic growth plan to expand NEXT’s bookings (revenue) and market presence. Build, model, and execute repeatable sales and marketing campaigns to drive predictable top-line growth and precise sales forecasting. Leverage a creative and commercial mindset to turn innovative ideas into profitable revenue streams, while maintaining an entrepreneurial drive to spot untapped market opportunities.
- End-to-End Events & Platform Operations: Oversee core platform operations, including forward planning, budget management, and internal education. Serve as a strong operator with deep expertise across the entire event ecosystem end-to-end, managing program capacity and optimizing resource utilization to maximize yield and venue efficiency.
- Team Leadership & Talent Instinct: Apply strong talent instincts to recruit, mentor, and develop high-performing teams, fostering internal growth and managing key relationships. You will establish rigorous processes and execution standards, continuing a culture of accountability and continuous development that guides the team to excel in service delivery and experience curation.
- Relationship-Led Communication & Engagement: Act as a relationship-oriented leader, establishing credibility with partners at all levels. Oversee high-level leadership updates, ensuring clear, strategic, and transparent communication across internal teams and external stakeholders.
- Member Experience & Scalability: Establish and manage the necessary systems, platforms, and data-driven feedback mechanisms to continuously improve the participant journey, identifying new business opportunities, and scaling a highly differentiated event experience.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Collaborate closely with internal teams, serving as a key brand ambassador for NEXT while ensuring we leverage learnings and tools proven successful in other parts of our business.
The Ideal Candidate
You are an entrepreneurial, P&L-tested leader motivated by the opportunity to scale and optimize a premium, event-based commercial venture. You possess a deep understanding of executive audiences, possess a track record of scaling teams, and combine strong operational and process execution with the ability to build high-value, relationship-led partnerships.
What You Bring:
- Commercial Ownership & P&L Acumen: Proven experience taking commercial ownership of a P&L, driving revenue growth, protecting margins, accurate sales forecasting, and executing repeatable, scalable campaigns. Demonstrated ability to turn creative concepts into profitable propositions.
- End-to-End Events Expertise & Operations: Experience in event-centric business models, forward planning, and budget management—specifically demonstrating end-to-end mastery of the events ecosystem, program capacity management, and yield optimization.
- Enterprise Sales Collaboration: Track record of partnering closely with enterprise sales teams, driving weekly sales alignment, and converting executive relationships (CHROs/CTOs) into pipeline growth.
- Builder Mentality & Entrepreneurial Drive: A track record of growing or repositioning a business, with a sharp eye for spotting new revenue opportunities and turning strategic vision into market growth.
- Talent Instinct & Team Development: Strong talent instincts with a focus on developing teams and managing cross-functional relationships. A strong operator who excels at team structure, repeatable processes, and flawless execution.
- Relationship-Led Leadership: Highly credible with C-suite clients, internal teams and strategic partners, combining executive presence with a collaborative, trust-first leadership style.
- Resourcefulness & Systems Thinking: Action-oriented, organized, and focused on building repeatable, sustainable systems that scale operations and deliver exceptional value.

Who's Hiring

General Manager Jobs in Atlanta: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I get a general manager job in Atlanta?
Focus on Atlanta's highest-demand sectors: hospitality and hotel management along Peachtree Road and in Midtown, multi-unit retail and restaurant groups anchored in Buckhead and the metro suburbs, and logistics and distribution operations near Hartsfield-Jackson. Candidates who demonstrate P&L ownership, team leadership at scale, and familiarity with Atlanta's competitive labor market stand out most with local hiring managers.
Which companies hire general managers in Atlanta?
Companies currently hiring general managers in Atlanta include CAVA, Petco, and Sodexo, per current listings on Migrate Mate as of September 2026. Atlanta's mix of corporate headquarters, regional distribution hubs, and a dense hospitality market means openings come from national chains, local restaurant groups, and logistics operators alike.
Are there remote general manager jobs in Atlanta?
Yes, though general manager roles are predominantly on-site given their operational nature. About 30% of general manager openings tied to Atlanta are remote or hybrid as of September 2026, skewing toward companies where the GM oversees a distributed or largely desk-based team. The most remote-compatible roles in Atlanta tend to be in business services and technology operations rather than hospitality or retail.
How can I get a general manager job in Atlanta with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is moving up through assistant manager or department lead roles inside Atlanta's large hospitality groups, multi-unit restaurant chains, or big-box retail operations, all of which promote heavily from within. Completing a management development program at one of Atlanta's major hotel brands or national retailers gives you structured P&L exposure faster than most lateral moves. Demonstrating you can manage a high-turnover Atlanta workforce is often the deciding factor.
