Entry Level Graphic Design Specialist Jobs: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I get an entry level graphic design specialist job?
Build a portfolio that shows range across print, digital, and brand work, even if the pieces come from class projects, personal work, or volunteer clients. Employers hiring at the entry level prioritize visual problem-solving and software fluency, particularly in Adobe Creative Cloud. Tailoring each application to the employer's visual identity and submitting work samples with your resume gives you a meaningful edge over candidates who apply generically.
Which companies hire entry level graphic design specialists?
Companies hiring entry level graphic design specialists right now include Cannon Design, NIKE, and Stellantis, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of July 2026. At this level, hiring comes from a wide mix of employers, including in-house creative teams at consumer brands, marketing agencies, media companies, and nonprofits that need production support without requiring years of prior experience.
Are there remote entry level graphic design specialist jobs?
Yes, though on-site and hybrid roles are still common at the entry level. About 12% of entry level graphic design specialist openings are remote or hybrid as of July 2026, so remote options exist but are not guaranteed. Candidates open to on-site roles in their local market will generally see a broader set of openings to apply to.
Are these new grad graphic design specialist jobs?
Yes, these listings include new grad, recent graduate, and junior graphic design specialist roles. A new grad-friendly posting typically welcomes zero to two years of experience, accepts internship or academic work as qualifying experience, and emphasizes portfolio quality over resume length. If a posting asks for a portfolio or design samples rather than years of experience, it is almost always open to new graduates applying directly.
Which industries hire the most entry level graphic design specialists?
Entry Level graphic design specialist roles concentrate in Education, Construction & Real Estate, and Consulting & Professional Services, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of July 2026. These sectors tend to drive entry level hiring because they maintain ongoing creative production needs, from digital marketing assets to branded content, that junior designers can contribute to immediately without requiring senior-level strategic oversight.
