Entry Level Product Design Manager Jobs: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I get an entry level product design manager job?
Build a portfolio that shows end-to-end design thinking, even if the projects came from coursework, internships, or personal work. Employers at this level prioritize candidates who can communicate design decisions clearly, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and demonstrate familiarity with tools like Figma or Sketch. Internship experience, bootcamp credentials, and well-documented case studies all strengthen an application for a first role.
Which companies hire entry level product design managers?
Companies hiring entry level product design managers right now include Apple, TikTok, and Southern States, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of August 2026. Hiring at this level covers startups building out early design teams, mid-size tech and consumer product companies, and larger organizations running structured new grad or associate design programs.
Are there remote entry level product design manager jobs?
Yes, though on-site and hybrid roles remain common at this stage since many employers prefer in-person mentorship for early-career hires. About 14% of entry level product design manager openings are remote or hybrid as of August 2026, so candidates open to flexible arrangements have real options without limiting themselves to a single metro area.
Are these new grad product design manager jobs?
Yes. These listings include new grad, recent graduate, and junior product design manager roles. A posting is typically new-grad friendly when it welcomes zero to two years of experience, counts internships or project-based work toward that requirement, or explicitly accepts a portfolio in place of full-time history. Searching for new grad or junior titles alongside entry level returns the broadest set of openings suited to candidates just starting out.
Which industries hire the most entry level product design managers?
Entry Level product design manager roles concentrate in Electronics & Hardware, Technology & Software, and Manufacturing, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of August 2026.
