Entry Level Instructional Designer Jobs: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I get an entry level instructional designer job?
Build a portfolio of two to four sample projects before you apply, even self-initiated or volunteer work counts. Employers at this level look for evidence you can write clear learning objectives, storyboard a module, and use at least one authoring tool like Articulate Storyline or Rise. Internship experience, a relevant degree in education or communications, and familiarity with ADDIE or SAM models all strengthen a junior candidacy.
Which companies hire entry level instructional designers?

At this level, hiring comes from a wide range of employers including large corporations building internal training programs, healthcare systems onboarding clinical staff, and government contractors developing compliance or technical training.
Are there remote entry level instructional designer jobs?
