Entry Level UX Product Designer Jobs: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I get an entry level ux product designer job?
Build a portfolio that shows your design process from research through final mockups, not just polished screens. Include case studies from internships, bootcamp projects, or personal redesigns that demonstrate problem-solving and user empathy. Employers at this level prioritize candidates who can articulate design decisions clearly, collaborate cross-functionally, and show familiarity with tools like Figma. Applying to roles that explicitly welcome junior candidates or recent graduates gives you the strongest footing.
Which companies hire entry level ux product designers?
Companies hiring entry level ux product designers right now include Avis Budget, Aflac, and Synopsys, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of August 2026. Hiring at this level comes from a wide range of employers, including tech startups building out their first design teams, mid-size product companies, and larger enterprises with structured new grad programs.
Are there remote entry level ux product designer jobs?
Yes, though availability varies by employer and team setup. About 29% of entry level ux product designer openings are remote or hybrid as of August 2026, giving new grads and junior candidates real flexibility in where they work. Some remote roles still prefer candidates in a specific time zone, so check each listing for location requirements before applying.
Are these new grad ux product designer jobs?
Yes. The entry level ux product designer openings on this page include new grad, recent graduate, and junior roles that welcome candidates with little or no professional experience. A new grad friendly posting typically calls for zero to two years of experience, accepts internship work or school projects as portfolio evidence, and does not require prior full-time design employment. Look for language like "recent graduates welcome" or "portfolio in lieu of experience" as strong signals.
Which industries hire the most entry level ux product designers?
Entry Level ux product designer roles concentrate in Technology & Software, Retail, and Insurance, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of August 2026. These sectors drive hiring at this level because they build consumer-facing or enterprise digital products that depend on user-centered design, creating consistent demand for junior designers who can contribute quickly under more experienced product teams.
