Entry Level Senior Designer Jobs: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I get an entry level senior designer job?
Build a portfolio that shows real problem-solving, not just polished final screens. Employers hiring at the entry level want to see your process, including sketches, wireframes, and iteration. Internship work, freelance projects, or strong academic case studies all count. Roles that list 'new grad welcome' or '0 to 2 years' are your best starting point, and tailoring each application to the job description helps you stand out early.
Which companies hire entry level senior designers?
Companies hiring entry level senior designers right now include Affirm, Ryder System, and Stantec, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of July 2026. At this level, you'll find a mix of agencies, in-house product teams, and growing startups that treat entry level hires as long-term investments rather than short-term fills.
Are there remote entry level senior designer jobs?
Yes, though remote availability at the entry level is more limited than at mid or senior levels. About 31% of entry level senior designer openings are remote or hybrid as of July 2026, so on-site roles still make up a meaningful share. Hybrid positions are often a practical first step, giving new designers mentorship and collaboration that can accelerate early growth.
Are these new grad senior designer jobs?
Yes. The listings here include new grad, recent graduate, and junior roles alongside other entry level postings. A new grad friendly posting typically welcomes zero to two years of experience, accepts internship or academic work as qualifying experience, and values a strong portfolio over a long resume. If a listing does not require prior full-time employment, it is generally worth applying to as a new grad.
Which industries hire the most entry level senior designers?
Entry Level senior designer roles concentrate in Consulting & Professional Services, Technology & Software, and Construction & Real Estate, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of July 2026. These sectors tend to have consistent design hiring at the entry level because they maintain large product or marketing teams that regularly bring in junior talent to support output and build pipeline for mid-level roles.
