Get Access To All JobsTips for Finding Green Card Sponsorship as a Behavioral Health Case Manager
Verify your degree meets PERM requirements
Most PERM filings for this role require a bachelor's degree in social work, counseling, psychology, or a directly related field. A general business or unrelated science degree won't satisfy DOL's normal-minimum requirement, even with years of case management experience.
Target employers with active I-140 filing history
Community mental health centers, Medicaid managed care organizations, and VA-affiliated health systems file I-140 petitions for behavioral health roles more frequently than private practices. Filtering by employer type narrows your search to organizations already familiar with the PERM process.
Use Migrate Mate to find green card sponsoring employers
Search Migrate Mate to surface employers who have sponsored behavioral health case managers for EB-2 or EB-3 green cards. The platform surfaces real filing data so you're not guessing which organizations will sponsor.
Confirm licensure portability before accepting an offer
Your PERM application is tied to the state where you'll work. Licensed Clinical Social Worker or Licensed Professional Counselor credentials don't transfer automatically across states, and a license gap discovered mid-filing can trigger a PERM denial or an RFE on the job requirements.
Ask employers about concurrent I-485 filing eligibility
EB-3 has no annual cap concerns for many nationalities, but EB-2 priority dates for some countries remain retrogressed. Clarify with your sponsoring employer whether your country of birth and the chosen category allow concurrent I-140 and I-485 filing at offer stage.
Check prevailing wage before your offer letter is signed
DOL sets the prevailing wage for your role using OFLC Wage Search before your employer files the PERM application. If your offered salary falls below the Level I or Level II wage for your metro area, DOL will reject the application outright.

Find Behavioral Health Case Manager JobsBehavioral Health Case Manager Green Card Sponsorship: Frequently Asked Questions
Does a Behavioral Health Case Manager role qualify for EB-2 or EB-3 green card sponsorship?
Most Behavioral Health Case Manager positions qualify under EB-3 as skilled workers or professionals, requiring at least a bachelor's degree in social work, counseling, or psychology. Roles requiring a master's degree and two or more years of clinical supervision may qualify under EB-2 as advanced-degree professionals. The sponsoring employer defines the minimum requirements in the PERM job description, so the degree level stated in the offer determines which category applies.
How does PERM green card sponsorship differ from H-1B for this role?
H-1B is a temporary nonimmigrant status with an annual lottery cap and a maximum six-year stay. PERM-based green card sponsorship leads to lawful permanent residency with no recurring renewal. EB-3 green card petitions for most nationalities outside India and China face no significant priority date backlogs, meaning some candidates can complete the process in one to two years. There is no annual cap on EB-3 I-140 approvals themselves, only on immigrant visa numbers issued per fiscal year.
Which employers typically sponsor Behavioral Health Case Managers for green cards?
Medicaid managed care organizations, community mental health centers, federally qualified health centers, hospital systems with inpatient psychiatric units, and VA-affiliated behavioral health programs are the most consistent sponsors. These organizations employ large numbers of case managers, have established HR and legal infrastructure for PERM filings, and frequently need to recruit from a national or international candidate pool to fill caseload demands.
How can I find Behavioral Health Case Manager jobs that include green card sponsorship?
Search Migrate Mate to identify employers who have filed PERM applications or I-140 petitions for behavioral health case management roles. Standard job postings rarely advertise green card sponsorship explicitly, so filtering by actual DOL and USCIS filing data gives you a more reliable list of organizations willing to sponsor than reading job descriptions alone.
Can gaps in U.S. clinical licensure affect my PERM application?
Yes. If the PERM job description lists state licensure as a minimum requirement and you don't hold or can't obtain that license before the filing date, DOL can deny the application. Foreign credentials or licensure from another state don't automatically satisfy this requirement. Confirm with your prospective employer whether they're willing to write the job requirements around your current credentials or support a reciprocal licensure application before the PERM is submitted.
