Senior Level Group Account Director Jobs: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I get a senior level group account director job?
Employers at this level look for candidates who have led multi-client portfolios, owned revenue growth targets, and managed teams of account managers or directors. What gives you an edge is a demonstrated history of retaining and expanding major accounts, a point of view on client strategy, and the ability to coach junior talent. Strong candidates can speak to business outcomes, not just executional wins.
Which companies hire senior level group account directors?
Companies hiring senior level group account directors right now include Ryder System, Citi, and ECS Limited, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of July 2026. Hiring at this level tends to come from full-service agencies, large consultancies, and enterprise brands managing complex client relationships across multiple business units.
Are there remote senior level group account director jobs?
Yes, though availability varies by employer and sector. About 20% of senior level group account director openings are remote or hybrid as of July 2026, reflecting how many agencies and consulting firms have adapted their operating models. Fully remote roles at this level typically still require periodic travel for client meetings and leadership offsites.
What makes a group account director role senior level?
Senior level group account director roles carry broader ownership than mid-level positions: you are responsible for a portfolio of accounts rather than a single client, you set team direction rather than execute it, and you are expected to drive organic growth. You also carry accountability for team development, which means recruiting, coaching, and performance-managing account managers and directors under you.
Which industries hire the most senior level group account directors?
Senior Level group account director roles concentrate in Technology & Software, Consulting & Professional Services, and Investment & Asset Management, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of July 2026. These sectors tend to drive hiring at this level because they rely on long-term client relationships, complex service delivery, and dedicated account leadership to protect and grow enterprise revenue.
