H-2A Visa Server Jobs
Server jobs with H-2A visa sponsorship are available at agricultural camps, resorts, and seasonal dining operations that rely on temporary foreign workers during peak seasons. Employers must provide free housing, inbound transportation, and pay the Adverse Effect Wage Rate. H-2A has no annual cap, so qualified candidates can start the process year-round.

Get Access To All JobsTips for Finding Server Jobs
Verify your role qualifies as agricultural
H-2A visa covers serving roles tied directly to agricultural operations, such as dining halls at farm labor camps or harvest-season resort restaurants. Confirm your prospective employer's job order specifies an agricultural connection before pursuing the application.
Pull your O*NET occupation profile early
O*NET lists the core tasks and skills associated with Server roles. Cross-check your work history against those task descriptions so your resume and petition documents reflect the exact language DOL and USCIS expect to see.
Search Migrate Mate for verified H-2A sponsors
Filter by job title and visa type on Migrate Mate to find employers who have filed H-2A petitions for Server positions. This surfaces active sponsors rather than employers who have never navigated the seasonal agricultural worker process.
Ask employers about housing and transport terms
H-2A employers must provide free housing and transportation from your country of origin to the worksite. Clarify these obligations in writing before signing an offer, because the specific accommodations vary significantly across agricultural operations.
Track the job order filing window carefully
Employers must submit the job order to the State Workforce Agency no fewer than 75 calendar days before the work start date. If you're in contact with a potential sponsor, confirm where they are in that DOL timeline so your documents are ready when needed.
Confirm wage compliance using the OFLC Wage Search
Your employer must pay the AEWR or the prevailing wage, whichever is higher, for your specific county and occupation. Run the OFLC Wage Search yourself so you know the floor rate before any offer conversation.
Frequently Asked Questions
How do I find Server jobs with H-2A visa sponsorship?
Migrate Mate lets you search specifically for Server positions where employers have active H-2A filing history, so you're not guessing which operations actually sponsor temporary agricultural workers. You can filter by role and visa type to see verified sponsors. Avoid applying broadly to hospitality postings without confirming the employer has filed a job order with DOL, because standard restaurant or hotel roles rarely qualify under H-2A.
What housing and transportation is the employer required to provide?
H-2A employers must provide free housing that meets federal and state health and safety standards for the entire period of your employment. They're also required to pay for your transportation from your home country to the worksite and back at the end of the contract. If the housing is provided as a monetary allowance rather than a physical facility, the amount must meet DOL-set standards.
Does serving food at an agricultural worksite actually qualify for H-2A?
Yes, but the connection to agricultural activity matters. Servers working in dining facilities at farm labor camps, packing operations, or harvest-season lodges generally qualify because the role directly supports an agricultural workforce. Servers at standalone restaurants or urban hospitality venues typically do not qualify, since H-2A is limited to temporary or seasonal agricultural employment.
Can my H-2A status be extended if the season runs longer than expected?
Your employer can petition USCIS for an extension of your H-2A status if the agricultural need continues beyond the original end date. Extensions are granted in increments and cannot push your total stay beyond three years. Your employer must file the extension request before your current authorized period ends, and the agricultural basis for the continued need must be documented.
