Get Access To All JobsTips for Finding Customer Service Jobs
Confirm your role qualifies as agricultural
H-2A visa covers temporary agricultural work, so verify that a Customer Service role at a farm, agritourism operation, or harvest facility is tied directly to seasonal production cycles. Positions supporting a packing shed, farm stand, or u-pick operation during peak season typically qualify.
Pull the AEWR for your target state
DOL sets a separate Adverse Effect Wage Rate by state each year. Use the OFLC Wage Search to find the rate for your destination state before accepting an offer, so you can confirm the employer is meeting their legal wage floor.
Document bilingual or communication credentials early
Employers filing H-2A job orders for Customer Service roles frequently list bilingual ability or hospitality experience as requirements. Gather reference letters, language certificates, or prior employer statements before you apply so you're ready when a job order opens.
Search verified H-2A employers on Migrate Mate
Target employers with certified DOL job orders rather than general postings. Migrate Mate filters listings by H-2A sponsorship history so you can identify which agricultural employers have actually completed the filing process for Customer Service roles.
Ask employers about the job order start date
H-2A petitions can't be filed more than 75 days before the job start date listed on the certified job order. If an employer contacts you earlier than that window, confirm they've already submitted their application to DOL so your visa timeline stays on track.
Verify the housing arrangement before signing
Employers are legally required to provide free housing that meets DOL standards, but locations vary widely, from on-farm bunkhouses to off-site rentals. Ask for written confirmation of the housing address and occupancy details before your petition is submitted to USCIS.
Frequently Asked Questions
How do I find Customer Service jobs with H-2A visa sponsorship?
Migrate Mate is the recommended starting point. It filters job listings specifically by H-2A sponsorship status, so you're only seeing employers who have filed or are actively filing certified DOL job orders for Customer Service roles in agricultural settings. Searching general job boards makes it difficult to distinguish H-2A-eligible positions from standard seasonal roles that offer no visa support.
What are an H-2A employer's obligations for Customer Service workers?
H-2A employers must provide free housing meeting DOL standards, pay for inbound and outbound transportation, and pay at least the Adverse Effect Wage Rate or the prevailing wage for the occupation, whichever is higher. They must also cover workers' compensation insurance and submit a certified job order through DOL before the petition reaches USCIS.
Does a Customer Service role at a farm qualify for the H-2A visa?
It depends on how the role is structured. Customer Service positions at agritourism operations, u-pick farms, farm stands, or harvest-season retail that are directly tied to agricultural production cycles can qualify. Roles that are year-round or disconnected from seasonal agricultural activity don't meet H-2A's temporary and seasonal requirement, so the employer's job order must clearly reflect that connection.
Can I check what wage I should receive before accepting an H-2A job offer?
Yes. DOL publishes Adverse Effect Wage Rates by state annually, and you can look up the prevailing wage for your specific occupation using the OFLC Wage Search tool. The O*NET profile for Customer Service roles also provides occupational context. Your employer's certified job order must list a wage at or above the higher of these two figures, and that figure is legally binding.
