Get Access To All JobsTips for Finding Business Development Jobs
Align your background with H-2A eligibility
H-2A visa covers temporary or seasonal positions, so document how your Business Development experience ties directly to agricultural cycles. A contract tied to harvest season, trade show periods, or planting cycles strengthens your petition.
Target agricultural employers with export programs
Growers, cooperatives, and agribusinesses with international sales divisions file H-2A petitions for Business Development roles during peak seasons. Focus your outreach on employers who already have DOL-certified H-2A histories in related positions.
Search verified H-2A sponsoring employers on Migrate Mate
Migrate Mate filters job listings by employers with confirmed H-2A sponsorship activity, so you're not cold-applying to companies unfamiliar with the visa process. Use it to find Business Development openings tied to active agricultural operations.
Confirm the job order covers your role duties
DOL requires employers to file a detailed job order before sponsoring H-2A workers. Ask to review the approved job order before accepting an offer to verify your Business Development duties are specifically described and match your actual responsibilities.
Verify housing and transportation terms before signing
H-2A employers must provide free housing meeting federal standards and pay inbound and outbound transportation costs. Get written confirmation of housing location, occupancy standards, and whether transportation covers your full travel from your home country.
Use O*NET to prepare credential documentation
Pull the O*NET occupation profile for Business Development roles to identify the skills, education, and work activities DOL expects. Use this to align your resume and supporting documents with what the employer lists in their H-2A labor certification application.
Frequently Asked Questions
How do I find Business Development jobs with H-2A visa sponsorship?
Migrate Mate is the most direct way to find Business Development roles where employers have confirmed H-2A sponsorship. Search by job title and filter for H-2A-certified positions tied to agricultural operations. Because H-2A requires DOL labor certification before the employer can hire foreign workers, listings on Migrate Mate reflect employers who have already begun or completed that filing process.
What employer obligations come with H-2A sponsorship for this role?
H-2A employers must provide free housing that meets federal and state occupancy standards, pay for your round-trip transportation from your home country, and guarantee wages at the Adverse Effect Wage Rate or the prevailing wage for your occupation, whichever is higher. These obligations are written into the job order DOL certifies before your petition is filed.
Does a Business Development role qualify as a seasonal position under H-2A?
It can, if the employer demonstrates the work is tied to a recurring agricultural cycle rather than ongoing year-round operations. Business Development roles supporting seasonal commodity sales, export contracts during harvest windows, or trade event schedules that coincide with planting or harvest periods have supported successful H-2A certifications. DOL evaluates each job order on its specific duties and seasonal justification.
What documents should I prepare before a U.S. employer begins my H-2A petition?
Gather proof of your relevant Business Development experience, any credentials or degrees that align with the role's duties, a valid passport, and your work history organized by employer and date. Your employer will need this information to complete Form I-129 with USCIS and the accompanying DOL labor certification. Having clean, translated documents ready speeds up the filing timeline on their end.
