Get Access To All JobsTips for Finding Visa Sponsorship as a Sales Manager
Verify your role qualifies as seasonal
H-2A visa is limited to temporary or seasonal positions, so confirm the Sales Manager role is tied to a defined harvest or production cycle, not a year-round management position. DOL scrutinizes petitions where the duties look permanent.
Obtain a credentials evaluation before applying
If your sales or agribusiness degree is from outside the U.S., get it evaluated by a NACES-accredited agency before employers begin the H-2A filing. Unevaluated foreign credentials slow petition approvals and raise recruiter doubts.
Search verified H-2A employer listings on Migrate Mate
Use Migrate Mate to filter agricultural employers with active H-2A filing history for sales and management roles. This saves time compared to manually cross-referencing DOL disclosure data and job boards separately.
Target multi-crop operations with longer season windows
Farms running overlapping harvest cycles for multiple commodities can justify longer H-2A periods, sometimes up to three years. A Sales Manager overseeing contracts across citrus, berry, and vegetable seasons is easier to sponsor than a single-crop role.
Confirm the employer has filed a job order with the State Workforce Agency
Before accepting an offer, ask whether the employer has already submitted their job order through the State Workforce Agency and received DOL certification. Unfiled petitions mean your start date could slip weeks past what was promised.
Understand the three-fourths guarantee before you sign
H-2A employers must offer you at least three-fourths of the total work hours listed in the petition. If a Sales Manager contract promises 40 hours weekly over 20 weeks, you're guaranteed pay for at least 30 of those hours even if crop conditions reduce available work.
Frequently Asked Questions
Where can I find Sales Manager jobs with H-2A visa sponsorship?
Migrate Mate is the recommended starting point for finding Sales Manager roles with verified H-2A sponsorship. You can filter by visa type to surface agricultural employers who have filed H-2A petitions for sales and management positions, rather than guessing which operations actually sponsor. Look for multi-commodity farms and large-scale produce distributors, as they most commonly file for this role type.
What housing and transportation obligations does an H-2A employer have for a Sales Manager?
Your H-2A employer must provide free housing that meets federal and state standards for the duration of your authorized stay, or pay a subsistence allowance if compliant housing is unavailable. They must also cover your inbound transportation costs from your home country to the job site and return transportation when the season ends. These are legally required, not optional benefits.
Does a Sales Manager role qualify for H-2A, or is it considered too supervisory?
H-2A covers temporary agricultural labor, and Sales Manager roles tied directly to seasonal harvest operations, such as managing buyer contracts during a specific production window, can qualify. The key is that the position must be temporary and agricultural in nature. Purely administrative or office-based management roles with no direct connection to a seasonal cycle typically do not meet DOL's criteria.
How does the Adverse Effect Wage Rate affect what I'll earn as an H-2A Sales Manager?
The Adverse Effect Wage Rate, or AEWR, is a DOL-set minimum hourly wage that varies by state and is updated annually to prevent H-2A wages from undercutting U.S. worker pay. Your employer must pay whichever is higher: the AEWR, the prevailing wage for your occupation and location, or the applicable minimum wage. You can look up current prevailing wage data using the OFLC Wage Search tool.
