Industrial Designer Jobs in Arkansas: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a industrial designer in Arkansas?
Industrial design in Arkansas does not require a state-issued license, so the path runs through education and portfolio strength. Most Arkansas employers expect a bachelor's degree in industrial design, product design, or a closely related engineering discipline. Graduates who can show documented project work from concept through production-ready output, including CAD files and physical prototypes, move to the front of candidate pools at manufacturing and consumer goods companies throughout the state.
How much do industrial designers make in Arkansas?
Industrial designers in Arkansas earn a median of about $92,540 a year, based on May 2025 Bureau of Labor Statistics wage data, ranging from around $63,840 for the lowest 10% to over $141,140 for the top 10%. Pay rises with experience, specialty, and employer.
Which companies hire industrial designers in Arkansas?
Employers hiring industrial designers in Arkansas right now include L3Harris, Dennis, and Lockheed Martin, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of July 2026. Arkansas's concentration of manufacturing, aerospace, and retail headquarters creates consistent demand for product and design talent across the state.
Which Arkansas cities have the most industrial designer jobs?
Camden, Little Rock, and Rogers account for the most industrial designer openings in Arkansas. Little Rock's concentration of corporate headquarters and government contractors drives the bulk of demand, while Fayetteville benefits from proximity to major retail and consumer goods operations in Northwest Arkansas, and Fort Smith's dense manufacturing base keeps a steady need for production-focused design roles.
Are there remote industrial designer jobs in Arkansas?
Yes, but they're rare. Industrial design work frequently requires hands-on prototyping, on-site collaboration with engineering and production teams, and access to physical materials, which limits full remote arrangements. About 22% of industrial designer openings tied to Arkansas are remote or hybrid as of July 2026, and those positions tend to concentrate in the conceptual and digital phases of product development rather than manufacturing-floor roles.
How can I get hired as a industrial designer in Arkansas with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is an internship or co-op with one of Arkansas's manufacturing or consumer goods employers, which often converts to a full-time junior designer role. Northwest Arkansas companies in the retail supply chain regularly bring on recent graduates for product development support positions. Building a portfolio that shows CAD work, hand sketching, and at least one project carried from brief to prototype will do more for an Arkansas application than any single credential.
Where can I find and apply to industrial designer jobs in Arkansas?
You can find and apply to industrial designer jobs in Arkansas on Migrate Mate, which lists current openings from employers across the state. Search for roles that match your experience and specialization, then apply directly to the ones that fit.
