- Curiosity about new technologies, flexibility, and openness to ambiguity
Preferred Qualifications
The following skills are not required, but one or more of these areas would be valuable:

California does not require a state-issued license to work as an ios software engineer. What moves candidates forward is demonstrated Swift proficiency, published App Store projects, and familiarity with Apple's development ecosystem.
How much do ios software engineers make in California?

How can I get hired as a ios software engineer in California with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry point is an associate or junior iOS engineer role, typically reached through a strong portfolio of personal or open-source App Store projects. Large California tech employers like Apple and Google run new-grad programs that recruit directly from university computer science and software engineering programs. Adjacent roles such as QA engineer or mobile test engineer are also common stepping stones.
