ABOUT THE JOB
The SAP Internship Experience Program is SAP’s global, strategic, paid internship program that provides university students with opportunities to find purpose in their careers. This is more than an internship; it’s the foundation for a career built on connection, creativity, and impact.
Position Summary
Position title: SAP iXp Intern – Data Analysis, Comms & Project Management Services Sales
Location: Newtown Square, PA (Required to be physically located in this office)
Expected start date: June 2026
Duration: 6-9 Months (potential for extension)
Schedule: 40 Hours per week
As the Demand Management team member, you will become part of a team that is moving at high speed with projects and monthly and quarterly reporting requirements, as is customary in sales organizations. We agree on objectives and then we work steadily for a quarter on those projects.
We are looking for a candidate with intellectual honesty, comfortable with fast-paced, challenging environments. The right candidate is ready to discover how “data” supports business actions. Our team is not driven by “analysis”, we do not live for ‘data discovery’. Our purpose is to analyze available data to steer business decisions. We monitor the impact of business decisions. The right candidate has an interest in business decision-making in sales environment and is intellectually curious to investigate use of AI tools.
In addition to the strong data analysis component (~80% of the time), the right candidate must be interested in supporting tasks related to video production and editing, and basic communications (emails preparation, sharepoint maintenance) and other project tasks (~20% of the time).
We collaborate globally with all services sales regions and strategy teams. We operate from the NSQ office and connect remotely with our stakeholders all around the world.
This is an excellent opportunity to enter services sales at SAP. From there, the evolution options are endless. At the completion of the program, a successful candidate will benefit from full support to transition to other areas of the business such as strategy, operations, sales support, consulting, or data science.
Our team is an exciting workplace which mixes up the brick-and-mortar and digital modes. You are part of a small team which gets together, but you also have access to a large digital network of remote co-workers in the world.
YOUR ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Support global Head of Demand Management of Services sales with data analysis, presentations and communications. You will provide data insights and analyze existing trends to provide answers to business problems. You will create data charts, tables and presentations to outline answers to sales and strategy problems, and highlight gaps in sales pipeline.
- The organization is putting in place new demand management processes. This role helps steer the business impact of our decisions: are these decisions working? Is the data showing progress? Do we see more of the impact in pipeline? Which areas do we need to look into still? Are we communicating our achievements? Are we reaching our audience with newsletters and videos?
- The intern must be physically present 3 days per week in the SAP Newtown Square office. No exceptions. The intern will work with the Head of Demand Management and collaborate remotely from the office with a global team of data and business experts. The intern will benefit from direct guidance by the Head of Demand Management, and will be mentored by other team members who work out of the NSQ office.
- This is a tremendous learning opportunity to discover sales and services environment. The candidate will learn how data taxonomy works at SAP, and will put in practice their knowledge acquired in college about data visualization. The candidate will perfect their knowledge of data presentation in business context.
- This role requires exposure to many areas of services sales at SAP: consulting teams, sales teams, demand generation and marketing teams, and strategy and operations.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
We’re looking for someone who takes initiative, perseveres, and stays curious. You like to work on meaningful innovative projects and are energized by lifelong learning.
- Educational requirements: Master degree in data science, or business administration
- Curious about data but also explaining and presenting data to a non-technical audience. Past experience with data analysis and presentations is a must. Must have the ability to explain findings and articulate recommendations.
- Excellent knowledge of MS Excel, data visualization methods, SAP Analytics Cloud, and MS PPT. Diligent, detail-oriented, no cutting corners. Ability to take detailed notes. Must be able to remember instructions and then work independently to show project progress at regular cadence. Ability to work steadily toward a deadline (no mid-night oil burning the night before). Must not be shy to ask questions and reach out to colleagues for answers.
- All candidates selected for interview will be invited to complete a true assignment at the SAP Newtown Square office, to test their abilities to analyze and present data.
WHERE YOU BELONG
Be part of SAP Next Gen, a global community for students, universities, schools and educational partners, who are passionate about innovation and technology.
- Culture of Collaboration: Partner with experienced SAP colleagues and expert mentors who will support your growth. Grow professionally through personalized mentoring, coaching, and career development support.
- Project-driven Experience: Kickstart your career with hands-on learning experience, making an impact from day one by contributing to meaningful projects that help the world run better. You’ll have endless learning resources at your fingertips and gain future-ready skills from a variety of virtual, in-person, and hybrid learning sessions, cultivated just for you, and aligned with our learning approach.
- Gain Visibility: Build relationships with leaders and peers across teams and functions. Showcase your ideas, skills, and creativity in a global, fast-paced environment. Open doors for future career opportunities within SAP and beyond.

Get Access To All JobsTips for Finding J-1 Visa Sponsorship as a SAP Project Manager
Align your credentials to Trainee eligibility
The J-1 Trainee category requires a degree plus one year of related work experience, or five years of SAP project experience abroad. Document your ERP implementation history and certifications precisely before approaching any designated sponsor.
Target host employers with active SAP programs
Search Migrate Mate to find U.S. companies actively hosting international professionals in SAP and enterprise project management roles, so you're approaching organizations already structured to work with J-1 designated sponsors.
Distinguish the sponsor from the host employer
Your J-1 visa sponsor is a State Department-designated organization that issues your DS-2019 and oversees compliance. The host employer runs your project work. Confirm which sponsor your host employer already has a relationship with before accepting any offer.
Build a training plan around deliverables
Designated sponsors require a detailed Training and Internship Placement Plan (T-IPPD form). Map your SAP project manager tasks, phase milestones, and methodologies like S/4HANA migration or Agile delivery to specific learning objectives on that plan.
Check your role for the two-year home residency requirement
Some J-1 participants must return home for two years before switching to H-1B or permanent residency status. Whether this applies depends on your funding source and country, so verify your situation with your designated sponsor before signing an offer.
Negotiate program duration before your DS-2019 is issued
J-1 Trainee programs cap at 18 months; Specialist programs allow up to 12 months. If your SAP implementation project extends beyond that window, confirm go-live timelines with the host employer and request a program length that covers the full project lifecycle.

Find SAP Project Manager JobsSAP Project Manager J-1 Visa: Frequently Asked Questions
Which J-1 program category fits an SAP Project Manager role?
Most SAP Project Managers qualify under the J-1 Trainee category, which covers professionals with a relevant degree plus at least one year of SAP or enterprise project experience gained outside the United States. Candidates with deeper specialization and no degree but five or more years of documented ERP experience may qualify under the Specialist category instead. Current university students typically fall under Intern, not Trainee.
Who actually sponsors the J-1 visa for an SAP Project Manager?
The visa sponsor is a U.S. Department of State-designated organization, such as Cultural Vistas or AIPT, that reviews your qualifications, issues the DS-2019 form, and monitors program compliance. Your host employer provides the SAP project work but is not the designated sponsor. The host employer and the designated sponsor must have a pre-existing or newly established agreement before your program can begin.
How do I find U.S. host employers open to J-1 SAP Project Managers?
Search Migrate Mate to identify U.S. companies listing SAP and enterprise project management roles with J-1 sponsorship alignment. Because the J-1 requires the host employer to coordinate with a designated sponsor and complete a formal training plan, targeting employers already familiar with the process saves significant time compared to cold outreach to companies with no J-1 history.
Can I switch to an H-1B after completing a J-1 as an SAP Project Manager?
You can pursue H-1B status after J-1, but the two-year home residency requirement may apply to you first. This rule is triggered by government funding in your home country or if your home country has identified your field as one it needs. SAP project management skills are broadly in demand, but your specific country and funding source determine whether you need a waiver before any H-1B filing.
What documentation does a designated sponsor need to approve an SAP Project Manager J-1 program?
Designated sponsors require a completed Training and Internship Placement Plan (T-IPPD), your degree certificates and transcripts, proof of prior SAP or project management experience, and a letter from the host employer confirming supervision arrangements. For SAP roles, sponsors will scrutinize whether the tasks represent genuine skills training rather than routine production work, so your plan should reference specific methodologies, modules, or implementation phases you'll work on.
