Who's Hiring

Lab Technician Jobs in St. Louis: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I get a lab technician job in St. Louis?
Focus your search on St. Louis's three strongest hiring corridors: the Cortex Innovation Community for biotech and research roles, the Barnes-Jewish and SSM Health hospital systems for clinical lab positions, and North County and the Missouri River corridor for industrial and environmental testing. Candidates with hands-on experience in specific instrumentation, ASCP certification, or familiarity with regulated lab environments move to the top of shortlists faster than those with broad but shallow backgrounds.
Which companies hire lab technicians in St. Louis?
Employers hiring lab technicians in St. Louis right now include Mercy, ICL, and Chemline, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of November 2026. St. Louis draws a wide mix of hirers, from major academic medical centers and health systems to agriscience companies, specialty chemical manufacturers, and contract research organizations with regional offices in the metro area.
Are there remote lab technician jobs in St. Louis?
Yes, but only for a narrow slice of the role, since most lab technician work is hands-on and tied to a physical facility. About 0% of lab technician openings tied to St. Louis are remote or hybrid as of November 2026, and those positions tend to be in data review, lab information systems support, or regulatory documentation rather than bench work.
How can I get a lab technician job in St. Louis with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path in St. Louis is a lab assistant or sample processing role at one of the city's large hospital networks, where phlebotomy certification or a completed associate degree in a life science field is often enough to get started. Contract lab staffing firms that serve the Cortex biotech cluster also place entry-level candidates on short-term assignments that frequently convert to permanent roles, giving candidates a way to build a local employment record quickly.
