Overview
When Alfred Fain founded a small Rhode Island tire store in 1924, at the time no one could have predicted how Teknor Apex would become an international custom compounder sought out by companies around the world. After a nearly hundred-year journey that’s carried us through acquisitions and expansion, we now have nine U.S. locations, as well as operations in Belgium, Singapore, Germany, and China.
Throughout this global expansion Teknor has remained a privately held company, and today Fain’s grandson sits at the helm, maintaining the family’s tradition of fostering deep employee and customer relationships. These relationships are what allow us—together—to deliver customized compound solutions and help our customer’s create better products.
“Manufacturing is a team sport and we work together to achieve our goals.” ~Jon Fain

Senior Level Manufacturing Operator Jobs: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I get a senior level manufacturing operator job?
Employers hiring at this level look for candidates who have owned production outcomes, not just executed tasks. Demonstrating that you have led process improvements, trained junior operators, and made independent decisions under production pressure gives you a clear edge. Certifications in lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, or relevant equipment systems strengthen your candidacy, and a history of measurable efficiency or safety gains is what separates senior applicants from mid-level ones.
Which companies hire senior level manufacturing operators?
Companies hiring senior level manufacturing operators right now include North Wind, Teknor Apex Company, and JT4, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of July 2026. Hiring at this level tends to concentrate in large industrial manufacturers, defense contractors, and consumer goods producers that run continuous or high-volume production environments requiring experienced operational leadership.
What makes a manufacturing operator role senior level?
Senior level manufacturing operator roles are defined by scope and ownership. Where mid-level operators execute defined tasks, senior operators set production standards, lead root-cause investigations, mentor less experienced team members, and take accountability for line or cell performance. They are expected to drive continuous improvement initiatives, interface with engineering and quality teams, and make independent judgment calls when production issues arise.
Which industries hire the most senior level manufacturing operators?
Senior Level manufacturing operator roles concentrate in Manufacturing, Construction & Real Estate, and Aerospace & Defense, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of July 2026. These sectors drive demand at the senior level because they operate complex, regulated, or high-throughput production environments where experienced operators with deep process knowledge are essential to maintaining output quality and compliance.
