Role Overview:
We are seeking a highly experienced Master Electrician to lead field operations and drive business performance. This is a hands-on leadership role with full ownership of P&L, operations, estimating, and team development. You’ll lead a team of 8–12 electricians, serve as license holder across multiple states, and act as a key technical and business leader.
Key Responsibilities:
Operations & Field Oversight:
- Ensure all work meets code, safety, and quality standards.
- Oversee field execution, inspections, and complex troubleshooting.
- Serve as license of record and support permitting.
Team Leadership:
- Lead, mentor, and develop electricians and apprentices.
- Set performance expectations and build a culture of accountability.
- Establish standardized processes and best practices.
Sales & Estimating:
- Support estimating, site assessments, and pricing accuracy.
- Partner with customers to provide technical expertise and drive sales.
- Identify upsell opportunities and improve close rates.
Business & Financial Leadership:
- Own P&L performance including revenue, margins, and job costing.
- Track estimate vs. actual results and drive profitability improvements.
- Report on performance, risks, and operational priorities.
Required Qualifications:
Licenses & Certifications:
- Active Master Electrician license (MD required; VA, PA, DE preferred or obtainable).
- Valid driver’s license.
- Generac/Kohler certification preferred (or willingness to obtain).
Experience:
- P&L responsibility in electrical, trades, or home services.
- Strong estimating, job costing, and margin management experience.
- Proven leadership of electrical field teams.
- Experience scaling or managing operations in a fast-paced environment.
Skills:
- Entrepreneurial mindset with strong accountability.
- Excellent leadership and communication skills.
- Strong business and financial acumen.
- Highly organized with a focus on quality and compliance.
- Willingness to travel across MD, PA, VA, and DE (60–75%).
