Senior Level Media Buyer Jobs: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I get a senior level media buyer job?
Employers hiring at this level want candidates who can own a media budget end to end, not just execute tactics someone else planned. Demonstrating that you have led cross-channel strategy, managed agency or vendor relationships, and improved efficiency at scale gives you a clear edge. A portfolio of campaigns where you can speak to both the decisions you made and the outcomes you drove is more persuasive than tenure alone.
Which companies hire senior level media buyers?
Companies hiring senior level media buyers right now include Etsy, PubMatic, and Fluor, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of July 2026. Hiring at this level comes from a broad mix of in-house brand teams, media agencies, and performance marketing firms that need experienced practitioners who can lead without close supervision.
Are there remote senior level media buyer jobs?
Yes, remote and hybrid options are well represented at this level. About 50% of senior level media buyer openings are remote or hybrid as of July 2026, reflecting how many marketing organizations have normalized distributed teams for experienced individual contributors and team leads who have already proven they can manage complex work independently.
What makes a media buyer role senior level?
Senior level media buyer roles are defined by ownership and scope rather than task execution. At this stage, you are expected to set channel strategy, control significant budgets, evaluate and negotiate with media partners directly, and mentor junior buyers on your team. You are accountable for campaign performance outcomes, not just delivery, and you often serve as the internal expert others rely on for strategic guidance.
Which industries hire the most senior level media buyers?
Senior Level media buyer roles concentrate in Retail, Hospitality & Tourism, and Media & Entertainment, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of July 2026. These sectors drive hiring at this level because they run high-volume, multi-channel paid media programs that require experienced strategists who can manage complexity, optimize large budgets, and translate performance data into business decisions.
