Position Title: Integrated Mental Health and Substance Use Therapist

Have familiarity of adopted treatment modalities;

Position Overview:
The Integrated Mental Health and Substance Use Therapist is responsible for mental health and substance use assessment, diagnosis, treatment planning, and individual and group therapy. This role involves increasing access to mental health and substance use services, collaboration and referral, advocating for and empowering clients in meeting their needs, maintaining accurate and up-to-date documentation and adherence to regulatory requirements and accreditation standards.
Position Responsibilities:
Assessment and Diagnosis: Conduct integrated assessments to assess risk, diagnose mental health disorders and substance use disorders, and determine appropriate level of care. Establish and maintain professional boundaries and ethics throughout the clinical pathway.
Treatment Planning: Engage clients in developing individualized treatment plans that incorporate evidence-based practices to address mental health and substance use concerns, including integrated treatment for clients with co-occurring disorders.
Individual and Group Therapy: Utilize clinically indicated therapeutic modalities, cultural competence and cultural humility, and psychoeducation to engage clients and address both mental health and substance use issues effectively in individual and group sessions.
Collaboration and Referral: Coordinate with internal and external providers, including peer supporters, case workers, psychiatrists, physicians, and community resources, to ensure comprehensive care.
Make referrals as necessary for specialized services.
Crisis Intervention: Proactively create safety plans and respond promptly and effectively to mental health or substance use crisis situations, providing appropriate support, de-escalation techniques, and linkage to emergency services when necessary. Collaborate with identified professionals and other relevant parties to best ensure the safety and well-being of clients, including timely aftercare.
Documentation: Maintain accurate and timely documentation of assessments, treatment plans, progress notes, referrals, care coordination, incident reports, and discharge summaries in compliance with regulations, accreditation standards, and organizational policies.
Advocacy and Empowerment: Serve as an advocate for clients and support clients in advocating for themselves. Collaborate with other service providers, community organizations, and stakeholders
to work toward improved access and quality of services and support systems. Empower clients to actively participate in their treatment and recovery process.
Work Characteristics:
· Clinical experience with mental health and substance use treatment.
· Proficiency in use of Electronic Health Records.
· Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
· Strong understanding of Medicaid, Ohio MHAS, Fair Housing, HIPAA, CARF and applicable regulations, standards, and guidelines
· Cultural competence and cultural humility with diverse populations, including individuals who are homeless.
· Consistent, accurate, and timely documentation of services.
· Excellent organizational and time management skills.
· Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
· Resilience in the face of challenges.
Working Conditions:
· Work schedule: M-F daytime schedule. Some evening and weekend hours as needed.
· Work environment: Primarily on-site with flexibility for remote work as appropriate.
· While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally required to stand, climb stairs, balance, sit, walk, type, kneel, and crouch.
· The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
Minimum Qualifications:
· Bachelor or Master’s degree in social work, counseling, or marriage and family therapy.
· Required: Current clinical licensure through the Ohio Counselor, Social Worker and Marriage and Family Therapist Board (LSW, LISW, LISW-S, LPC, LPCC, LPCC-S, MFT, IMFT, IMFT-S).
· Required: Demonstrated experience with SUD treatment.
· Preferred: Additional certification or licensure through the Ohio Chemical Dependency Professionals Board (CDCA, LCDC II, LCDC III, LICDC, LICDC-CS).
· Must have own vehicle and a valid driver’s license and automotive insurance. Must provide the agency with proof of valid automotive insurance yearly. Must not have more than 6 points on their license.
Pay: $50,000.00 - $55,000.00 per year
