Network Architect Jobs in Hawaii: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a network architect in Hawaii?
The concrete path in Hawaii starts with a four-year degree in computer science, information systems, or electrical engineering, followed by several years in network engineering or systems administration roles. Hawaii does not issue a state-specific license for network architects, but federal contractors and state agencies strongly favor candidates with active security clearances and advanced certifications such as CCNP or CCIE. Building experience with government or defense infrastructure on Oahu gives candidates a measurable edge in the local market.
How much do network architects make in Hawaii?
Network architects in Hawaii earn a median of about $108,000 a year, based on May 2025 Bureau of Labor Statistics wage data, ranging from around $78,980 for the lowest 10% to over $165,940 for the top 10%. Pay rises with experience, specialty, and employer.
Which companies hire network architects in Hawaii?
Hawaii network architect roles are posted by Leidos, Booz Allen Hamilton, and Alaka`ina Foundation Family of Companies and others right now, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of July 2026. Hawaii's concentration of federal contracts and defense facilities on Oahu means a significant share of openings come from government contractors alongside telecommunications carriers and large hospitality technology groups.
Which Hawaii cities have the most network architect jobs?
Honolulu, Ford Island, and Camp Smith account for the largest share of network architect openings in Hawaii. Honolulu drives the bulk of demand because it concentrates the state's federal agencies, defense contractors, major telecommunications infrastructure, and corporate headquarters, while Kapolei has grown as a secondary hub tied to the Joint Base Pearl Harbor-Hickam corridor and expanding commercial development on the west side of Oahu.
Are there remote network architect jobs in Hawaii?
Yes, though they are less common than in purely analytical roles because network architects are frequently needed on-site to oversee physical infrastructure, conduct site surveys, and coordinate with data center teams. About 0% of network architect openings tied to Hawaii are remote or hybrid as of July 2026, reflecting the hands-on nature of much of the work. The portions of the role most likely to be performed remotely include design documentation, vendor evaluation, and cloud architecture planning.
How can I get hired as a network architect in Hawaii with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is moving up from a network engineer or systems administrator role within one of Hawaii's large federal contractors or telecommunications firms. Employers such as Booz Allen Hamilton, Leidos, and Hawaiian Telcom regularly hire junior network engineers who can grow into architecture responsibilities. Earning a CCNP certification early and gaining any exposure to government or defense network environments significantly accelerates that transition in the Hawaii market, where clearance-eligible candidates are consistently in short supply.
Where can I find and apply to network architect jobs in Hawaii?
You can find and apply to network architect jobs in Hawaii on Migrate Mate, which lists current Hawaii openings from employers actively hiring right now. Search the available roles, find the ones that fit your experience and target location, and apply directly to each posting without any additional steps.
