The SVP/CNO reports operationally to the MGH/MGPO Chief Operating Officer and partners closely with the MGH President and senior leaders across Mass General Brigham.

In partnership with physician and operational leaders, this executive is accountable for ensuring exceptional patient outcomes, operational excellence, workforce effectiveness, and regulatory compliance across one of the most complex healthcare environments in the country.
Executive Leadership & Strategy
- Serve as a key member of the MGH executive leadership team.
- Shape organizational strategy and clinical transformation initiatives.
- Lead the development and execution of innovative care delivery models.
- Advance workforce excellence and nursing professional practice.
Quality, Safety & Patient Experience
- Ensure the delivery of safe, equitable, evidence-based, patient-centered care.
- Partner with clinical leaders to improve quality outcomes and patient satisfaction.
- Foster a culture of continuous learning, accountability, and excellence.
Operational & Financial Leadership
- Lead major operating and capital budget initiatives.
- Drive performance improvement and operational effectiveness.
- Ensure resources are aligned with organizational priorities and patient needs.
Education, Research & Innovation
- Support one of the nation's premier nursing research and professional development environments.
- Advance nursing scholarship, clinical innovation, and workforce development.
- Strengthen partnerships with academic institutions and professional organizations.
Candidate Profile
The successful candidate will be a visionary nursing leader with a demonstrated record of leading large, complex healthcare organizations and inspiring teams through periods of transformation and growth.
Required Qualifications
- Doctorate in Nursing, PhD, or equivalent doctoral degree
- Active Massachusetts RN license (or ability to obtain)
- Minimum of 10 years of progressively responsible executive leadership experience
- Experience within a large academic medical center
- Proven success leading complex, matrixed healthcare organizations
- Demonstrated ability to drive organizational transformation and clinical excellence
Preferred Qualifications
- Nurse Executive Advanced Board Certification (NEA-BC)
- Active engagement in nursing research, education, and professional organizations

Compensation & Benefits
The salary range for this position is $550,000 – $650,000 annually, plus a comprehensive executive benefits package.
