Entry Level Nursing Jobs: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I get an entry level nursing job?
Entry level nursing employers prioritize candidates who have completed clinical rotations, externships, or nurse residency programs, since hands-on patient care hours demonstrate readiness far more than coursework alone. Highlighting your clinical specialties, any certifications like BLS or ACLS, and the types of units you trained in gives your application a clear edge at this stage over candidates who rely solely on their degree.
Which companies hire entry level nursings?
Companies hiring entry level nursings right now include Keiser University, Kindred Hospitals, and Saber Healthcare, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of July 2026. At this level, the most active hirers tend to be large health systems, regional hospital networks, and long-term care organizations that run structured nurse residency or graduate nurse orientation programs.
Are there remote entry level nursing jobs?
Yes, though most nursing roles at the entry level are on-site given direct patient care requirements. About 4% of entry level nursing openings are remote or hybrid as of July 2026, and those positions typically involve case management, utilization review, telehealth triage, or health coaching rather than bedside care.
Are these new grad nursing jobs?
Yes, these listings include new grad, recent graduate, and junior nursing roles. A posting is new-grad friendly when it welcomes candidates with zero to two years of experience, accepts completed clinical rotations or an externship in place of full-time work history, or explicitly mentions a nurse residency program designed to bring new grads up to independent practice.
Which industries hire the most entry level nursings?
Entry level nursing roles concentrate in Healthcare & Medical Services, Education, and Non-Profit & Social Services, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of July 2026. Those sectors drive the highest volume of new grad hiring because ongoing patient turnover, workforce expansion, and structured residency pipelines create consistent openings for candidates entering the profession for the first time.
