INTRODUCTION
Fairview is seeking a casual Obstetrician and Gynecologist to join our Women’s Health team to provide high-quality obstetric and gynecologic care in a collaborative, hospital-based environment alongside an experienced and supportive care team.
Responsibilities
- Provides general patient care involving subjective and objective evaluation, assessment and formulation of a plan of care.
- Prescribes or administers treatment as determined by the plan of care.
- Orders and interprets diagnostic tests to identify and assess patients’ clinical problems and health care needs.
- Consults with and makes appropriate referral(s) to other health care providers in abnormal or unusual cases. Refers within the Fairview network.
- Maintains the electronic medical record in accordance with Fairview standards and in accordance with licensure and scope.
- Recognizes and appropriately responds to medical emergencies.
- Serves as a patient advocate by maintaining patient confidentiality, protecting patient rights, communicating in a timely manner and resolving concerns or complaints regarding care and service.
- Assists in the development of new policies, programs, procedures or techniques.
- Participates in research, educational or other special projects or programs as needed.
- Dedicates majority of time to providing quality patient care and service. Participates equitably in responsibilities of patient care in designated department.
- May provide work direction to medical support and nursing staff in designated work unit.
- Actively participates in multidisciplinary team approach to case management.
- Utilizes quality improvement tools to develop processes that promote continuous improvement in delivery of patient care, patient outcomes or workflows.
- Demonstrates knowledge of age-related growth and development principles necessary to provide appropriate service and assure safety of patients.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- Graduate of an accredited ACGME/AOA Obstetrics and Gynecology residency training program.
- Board Certified/Board Eligible with the ABMS.
- Licensed or ability to obtain Minnesota Board of Medical Practice Licensure.
- Ability to obtain and/or maintain DEA certification for the State of Minnesota.
- Meet threshold criteria/qualification for Credentialing and Privileges.
COMPENSATION
- $110/hour
