How do I get a operating room technician job in Asheville?
Asheville's surgical hiring centers on Mission Hospital and its affiliated outpatient facilities, plus a growing cluster of freestanding ambulatory surgery centers in the South Slope and Biltmore Park areas. Candidates with scrub technician experience in orthopedics, cardiovascular, or general surgery move fastest in this market. Highlighting familiarity with instrument sterilization protocols and a willingness to work call shifts gives local applicants a clear edge over out-of-area competition.
Which companies hire operating room technicians in Asheville?

Asheville's hiring mix leans toward regional hospital networks, physician-owned surgical practices, and outpatient specialty centers serving western North Carolina's mountain communities.
Are there remote operating room technician jobs in Asheville?
Remote work is rare for operating room technicians because the role is inherently hands-on and requires a sterile surgical environment. About 0% of operating room technician openings tied to Asheville are remote or hybrid as of July 2026, and those positions typically involve scheduling coordination, surgical instrument inventory management, or sterile processing supervision rather than direct scrub or circulating duties.
How can I get a operating room technician job in Asheville with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path in Asheville is a sterile processing technician role at Mission Hospital or one of its affiliated surgery centers, which builds direct instrument handling and OR workflow experience. A-B Tech Community College in Asheville offers surgical technology programs that local employers recognize, and many ambulatory surgery centers in the Biltmore Park area hire program graduates for entry scrub positions before full OR placement.
