INTRODUCTION
Advocate Health is seeking a Lead CRNA to support clinical excellence and provide local leadership within our anesthesia team. This role combines hands-on clinical care with leadership responsibilities, partnering closely with physician and operational leaders to support team performance, engagement, and patient outcomes.
SCHEDULE
- Rotating schedule with flexible shift options: 9-, 11-, or 13-hour shifts (or combination)
- Dedicated leadership time (~10% of role)
QUALIFICATIONS
- Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA), NBCRNA-certified
- Active RN/APRN licensure (state-specific)
- DEA registration (prior to hire)
- Master’s Degree in Nursing
- Active ACLS, PALS, NRP as required by clinical site/practice and/or role prior to or within 6 months of hire
- Strong clinical skills, leadership ability, and communication skills
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Leadership:
- Partner with physician and operational leaders to optimize workflows and clinical practice
- Support recruiting, onboarding, and mentorship of CRNAs and APPs
- Participate in performance reviews and team development
- Lead engagement initiatives and promote a positive team culture
- Serve as a key liaison between frontline clinicians and leadership
Clinical:
- Provide full-scope anesthesia care across a variety of patient populations
- Develop and manage patient care plans in collaboration with interdisciplinary teams
- Ensure high-quality, evidence-based care and accurate documentation
- Support coordinated care and communication across care teams
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES REQUIRED
- Demonstrated high level of clinical proficiency, and excellent decision-making skills.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and as an effective member of a health care team.
- Demonstrated ability to adapt to evolving technology and proficiency with the electronic medical record.
- Excellent communication skills. Ability to effectively collaborate with and establish/build relationships with others.
- Proven organizational skills and ability to prioritize effectively.
