Why does the job exist?
The Administrative Operations Manager Office of the Secretary (OOS) / Project Manager will:
- Report to and work directly with the Deputy Secretary;
- Serve as the primary contact for the Deputy Secretary;
- Manage workflow, schedule and attend meetings;
- Draft and coordinate responses;
- Provide high-level project management and administrative functions;
- Develop presentations, facilitate data and other requests;
- Ensure effective administrative and operational functions;
- Manage special projects as needed;
- Assist the Office of the Secretary (OOS) with federal and state inquiries, audits, reviews and other regulatory activities as they relate to Health Care Authority (HCA) divisions.
How does it get done?
The Administrative Operations Manager OOS / Project Manager is responsible for:
- Assisting the Deputy Secretary with all requests;
- Managing and monitoring projects for the Deputy Secretary;
- Coordinating information that may require research;
- Working with staff and managers within HCA, other state of NM agencies, and federal partners;
- Providing research and analysis as required for special projects;
- Assisting with federal and Governor's office requests, inquiries, audits, etc.

- Health Care Authority (HCA) Deputy Secretary;
- HCA Departmental leadership;
- HCA staff, recipients, providers, stakeholders, and the general public.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor's Degree in a relevant field of study from an accredited college or university and four (4) years of professional level experience with a tactical impact directly related to the purpose of the position defined by the agency at the time of recruitment. Any combination of education from an accredited college or university in a related field and/or direct experience in this occupation totaling eight (8) years may substitute for the required education and experience.
Employment Requirements
- Must possess and maintain a valid Driver's License.
- Must obtain a Defensive Driving Certificate.
Working Conditions
Work is performed in an office setting with exposure to Visual/Video Display Terminal (VDT) and extensive personal computer and phone usage. Some sitting, standing, bending and reaching may be required.
