Operational Excellence Manager Jobs in Texas: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a operational excellence manager in Texas?
The concrete path into operational excellence management in Texas starts with a bachelor's degree in engineering, business, or operations, followed by hands-on process improvement experience in one of the state's core industries. No state-issued license is required, but Lean Six Sigma certification, earned through bodies like ASQ or IASSC, is the credential Texas employers look for most consistently. Many professionals move into the role from industrial engineering, supply chain, or quality assurance positions at Texas manufacturers, energy companies, or large hospital systems.
How much do operational excellence managers make in Texas?
Operational excellence managers in Texas earn a median of about $103,230 a year, based on May 2025 Bureau of Labor Statistics wage data, ranging from around $46,190 for the lowest 10% to over $264,620 for the top 10%. Pay rises with experience, specialty, and employer.
Which companies hire operational excellence managers in Texas?
Employers hiring operational excellence managers in Texas right now include Augmentis, BD, and RWE, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of August 2026. Texas's concentration of energy, defense, and healthcare anchor employers means demand stays consistent across economic cycles and is not limited to a single sector.
Which Texas cities have the most operational excellence manager jobs?
San Antonio, Houston, and Dallas have the most operational excellence manager openings in Texas. Houston leads because of its dense concentration of energy, petrochemical, and logistics employers, while Dallas draws demand from corporate headquarters and large health systems, and San Antonio's growing manufacturing and military-adjacent industries have made it a consistent source of openings as well.
Are there remote operational excellence manager jobs in Texas?
Yes, but they're less common than in purely analytical roles, since much of the work involves observing shop floors, running kaizen events, and managing on-site teams. About 25% of operational excellence manager openings tied to Texas are remote or hybrid as of August 2026, with the remote share concentrated in roles focused on data analysis, reporting, and project coordination rather than direct facility management.
How can I get hired as a operational excellence manager in Texas with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is a quality assurance analyst, process engineer, or industrial engineer role at a Texas manufacturer or hospital system, which builds the data analysis and cross-functional project skills that operational excellence managers use daily. Large Texas employers like Texas Health Resources and major refining and aerospace contractors run rotational or high-potential development programs that place early-career candidates in improvement projects. Earning a Lean Six Sigma Yellow or Green Belt certification through ASQ while in an adjacent role signals readiness and often triggers a hiring conversation directly.
Where can I find and apply to operational excellence manager jobs in Texas?
