Operational Excellence Manager Jobs in Pennsylvania: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a operational excellence manager in Pennsylvania?
Most operational excellence manager roles in Pennsylvania require a bachelor's degree in engineering, business, or operations management, combined with hands-on process improvement experience. Pennsylvania has no state-issued license specific to this role, but employers strongly favor candidates who hold a Lean Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt certification from bodies such as the American Society for Quality or the Institute of Industrial and Systems Engineers. Healthcare-focused roles in Pennsylvania often additionally value Project Management Professional certification.
How much do operational excellence managers make in Pennsylvania?
Operational excellence managers in Pennsylvania earn a median of about $103,130 a year, based on May 2025 Bureau of Labor Statistics wage data, ranging from around $49,990 for the lowest 10% to over $220,530 for the top 10%. Pay rises with experience, specialty, and employer.
Which companies hire operational excellence managers in Pennsylvania?
Employers hiring operational excellence managers in Pennsylvania right now include Augmentis, Ecolab, and Legrand, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of August 2026. Pennsylvania's mix of large integrated health systems, global manufacturers, and financial services headquarters means demand for the role is spread across multiple industries rather than concentrated in a single sector.
Which Pennsylvania cities have the most operational excellence manager jobs?
Pittsburgh, Philadelphia, and Allentown account for the largest share of operational excellence manager openings in Pennsylvania. Philadelphia leads because of its dense concentration of health systems, pharmaceutical companies, and corporate headquarters, while Pittsburgh draws heavily from its manufacturing revival and growing healthcare and technology sectors, and Allentown reflects the Lehigh Valley's strong logistics and industrial base.
Are there remote operational excellence manager jobs in Pennsylvania?
Yes, but they are less common than in purely desk-based fields because much of the role involves observing processes, coaching floor teams, and running on-site kaizen events. About 43% of operational excellence manager openings tied to Pennsylvania are remote or hybrid as of August 2026, with most of those arrangements applying to the data analysis, reporting, and strategic planning portions of the work rather than hands-on improvement projects.
How can I get hired as a operational excellence manager in Pennsylvania with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is moving into the role from an adjacent position such as a quality engineer, production supervisor, industrial engineer, or supply chain analyst at a Pennsylvania manufacturer or health system. Large Pennsylvania employers like Geisinger Health, Carpenter Technology, and Air Products run structured continuous improvement associate or rotational programs designed for candidates early in their careers. Earning a Lean Six Sigma Yellow Belt or Green Belt before applying, and building a portfolio of even small-scale projects with documented results, gives candidates a concrete edge over those without formal credentials.
Where can I find and apply to operational excellence manager jobs in Pennsylvania?
You can find and apply to operational excellence manager jobs in Pennsylvania on Migrate Mate, which lists current Pennsylvania openings from employers across manufacturing, healthcare, financial services, and logistics. Search the listings, find roles that fit your background and preferred location, and apply directly to the ones that match.
