Senior Level Operational Excellence Manager Jobs: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I get a senior level operational excellence manager job?
Employers at this level look for candidates who have owned large-scale transformation programs, not just participated in them. Demonstrating measurable impact, such as cost reductions, cycle time improvements, or quality gains tied directly to your leadership, sets strong candidates apart. Certifications like Lean Six Sigma Black Belt signal technical depth, while examples of mentoring teams and influencing senior stakeholders show the leadership maturity these roles require.
Which companies hire senior level operational excellence managers?
Companies hiring senior level operational excellence managers right now include CRB, Abbott, and Schreiber Foods, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of July 2026. Hiring at this level tends to concentrate in large enterprises and mid-market organizations that run complex operations and need experienced leaders to sustain continuous improvement culture across multiple business units.
Are there remote senior level operational excellence manager jobs?
Yes, though availability varies by industry and employer. About 30% of senior level operational excellence manager openings are remote or hybrid as of July 2026, reflecting demand for leaders who can drive process improvement across distributed teams. Roles with significant change management or shop-floor oversight responsibilities are more likely to require an on-site presence.
What makes an operational excellence manager role senior level?
Senior level roles are defined by scope, ownership, and leadership responsibility. Where mid-level roles focus on executing defined improvement projects, senior roles involve setting the operational excellence strategy, prioritizing initiatives across the organization, and building the capability of other practitioners. Senior professionals are expected to influence executive decision-making, lead cross-functional steering committees, and own outcomes that are measurable at the business unit or enterprise level.
Which industries hire the most senior level operational excellence managers?
Senior level operational excellence manager roles concentrate in Biotechnology & Pharmaceuticals, Technology & Software, and Construction & Real Estate, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of July 2026. These sectors drive hiring at this level because their operations are complex enough to require dedicated leadership focused on systematic efficiency, quality, and continuous improvement at scale.
