Entry Level Paramedic Jobs: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I get an entry level paramedic job?
Employers hiring entry level paramedics prioritize current National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians certification, completed paramedic program coursework, and documented clinical or ride-along hours. Candidates who can show hands-on field experience through internships or clinical rotations gain a clear edge. Tailoring your application to the specific service type, whether 911 response, interfacility transport, or fire-based EMS, also strengthens your candidacy at this stage.
Which companies hire entry level paramedics?
Companies hiring entry level paramedics right now include Acadian Ambulance Service, Ascension, and Mayo Clinic, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of August 2026. At this level, hiring comes from a mix of private ambulance services, hospital-based EMS systems, fire departments, and municipal emergency services agencies actively building their field crews.
Are there remote entry level paramedic jobs?
Yes, though most paramedic roles are field-based and on-site by nature. About 2% of entry level paramedic openings are remote or hybrid as of August 2026, and those positions typically involve clinical coordination, dispatch support, or EMS education roles rather than direct patient care in the field.
Are these new grad paramedic jobs?
Yes, these listings include new grad, recent graduate, and junior paramedic roles alongside other entry level openings. A posting is new-grad friendly when it welcomes zero to two years of experience, accepts completed clinical internship hours in place of paid work history, or explicitly invites candidates straight out of an accredited paramedic program to apply.
Which industries hire the most entry level paramedics?
Entry Level paramedic roles concentrate in Healthcare & Medical Services, Education, and Consulting & Professional Services, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of August 2026. Those sectors drive entry level hiring because they operate high-volume emergency response systems, interfacility transport networks, and community health programs that depend on a steady pipeline of newly certified field providers.
