Entry Level Oncology Specialist Jobs: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I get an entry level oncology specialist job?
Entry level oncology specialist roles typically look for candidates with relevant clinical training, coursework in oncology or a related health science, and hands-on experience from internships or rotations. Highlighting patient interaction experience, familiarity with oncology care protocols, and any certifications you've completed gives you a clear edge over candidates who rely on coursework alone. Tailoring your application to each employer's patient population and care setting also strengthens your candidacy.
Which companies hire entry level oncology specialists?
Companies hiring entry level oncology specialists right now include Eisai, Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, and Banner Health, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of July 2026. Hiring at this level comes from a mix of hospital systems, cancer treatment centers, outpatient oncology clinics, and specialty health networks actively building their clinical teams.
Are there remote entry level oncology specialist jobs?
Yes, though most entry level oncology specialist roles are on-site given the clinical nature of the work. About 21% of entry level oncology specialist openings are remote or hybrid as of July 2026, and those positions tend to focus on patient coordination, case management, or administrative oncology support rather than direct clinical care.
Are these new grad oncology specialist jobs?
Yes, these listings include new grad, recent graduate, and junior oncology specialist roles. A posting is new-grad friendly when it welcomes zero to two years of experience, counts internships or clinical rotations toward the requirement, or explicitly accepts a strong portfolio of training in place of full-time work history. If the job description emphasizes learning and mentorship, it is written with early-career candidates in mind.
Which industries hire the most entry level oncology specialists?
Entry Level oncology specialist roles concentrate in Healthcare & Medical Services, Biotechnology & Pharmaceuticals, and Education, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of July 2026. Those sectors drive entry level hiring because they are expanding oncology service lines and need junior specialists who can grow into more complex patient care responsibilities over time.
