Summary
The position will provide clinical services at the Baylor Medicine Spine Center, located within the Baylor College of Medicine.
The physician's scope of practice shall be revisited by the physician, chief of service, and the department chair periodically, and in good faith, for purposes of expanding the physician's physical medicine and rehabilitation practice.
Job Duties
- Provide clinical services in Spine Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation.
- Provide outpatient clinical services at BSLMC McNair Campus and/or as assigned.
- Shall maintain a day-to-day reporting relationship with the Chief of Service, Medical Director, and Chair.
- Evaluate and treat patients with spine and pain conditions.
- Prescribe medications, treatments, and therapies as appropriate.
- Perform spine and pain procedures as appropriate
- Participate in the education and training of residents, fellows, and medical students
- Provide call coverage at BSLMC Hospitals and others as assigned
- Participate in committees, among other administrative duties.
- Attend faculty meetings, grand rounds, and other special lectures.
- Participate in quality improvement and patient safety efforts.
- Comply with regulatory requirements related to patient care and Baylor College of Medicine.
- Actively participate in faculty reviews and other departmental meetings, retreats, and activities.
- Perform other discipline and specialty-specific duties as assigned.
- Has never been excluded from participation in any state or federal health care program, including but not limited to Medicare or Medicaid.
- Will admit, manage, and discharge patients.
- Will consult and follow the patients as appropriate and as assigned.
- Will evaluate, manage, and treat the patients in the outpatient clinic as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
- Successful Completion of ACGME-approved residency program in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation.
- Successful Completion of ACGME-approved subspecialty program in Pain Medicine or equivalent.
- Current Texas Medical License, and said licenses and registrations have not been suspended, revoked, or restricted in any manner.
- Current ABPM&R Certification at a minimum in General PM&R. Pain or Spine Sub-specialization preferred.
- Current DEA Certification, and said licenses and registrations have not been suspended, revoked, or restricted in any manner.
