Physical Therapy Assistant Jobs in Charlotte: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I get a physical therapy assistant job in Charlotte?
Charlotte's strongest hiring comes from outpatient orthopedic and sports rehab clinics, large hospital systems, and the growing network of skilled nursing and long-term care facilities in Ballantyne and University City. Candidates with hands-on clinical hours in those settings and experience with orthopedic or neuro populations stand out. Targeting the SouthPark and Ballantyne corridors, where private practice groups and outpatient chains concentrate, gives you the most options in this market.
Which companies hire physical therapy assistants in Charlotte?
Charlotte physical therapy assistant roles are posted by Atrium Health, Advocate Aurora Health, and Concentra and others right now, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of July 2026. The Charlotte market includes a mix of large regional health systems, national outpatient therapy chains with multiple local clinics, and independently owned practices across the metro area.
Are there remote physical therapy assistant jobs in Charlotte?
Yes, though remote work is rare for physical therapy assistants because the role is hands-on and requires direct patient contact. About 0% of physical therapy assistant openings tied to Charlotte are remote or hybrid as of July 2026, and those postings typically involve administrative, care coordination, or telehealth support functions rather than direct treatment.
How can I get a physical therapy assistant job in Charlotte with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path in Charlotte is through a clinical affiliation or new-grad role at one of the city's outpatient orthopedic chains or hospital-affiliated rehab departments, which regularly take on recent graduates from programs like Central Piedmont Community College. Applying to skilled nursing facilities in the Ballantyne and Steele Creek areas is another strong option, as those settings tend to be more open to new graduates than specialized acute-care units.
